Service at this store was excellent. The cashier who checked us out was very friendly and helpful. That said, the selection at this Value Village is not great. I spent a long time here looking for clothes & only found a couple of fairly basic items(a black sleeveless top & a little black skirt). This Value Village is solid, but doesn’t offer much reward for your efforts. 3+

I am an avid VV shopper. This is one my lesser preferred Value Village locations. Positives: They have very nice and helpful staff at this location. The location is very accessible by subway. Negative: I generally find this VV to have very few finds. I have ventured a number times(I always try a thrift or vintage store three times before dismissing it!). I have never found anything. Generally, the location is small with less variety than other locations. I also feel the location is not as clean or overall as much of a pleasant shopping experience.

Mark my words… if you have kids and want to keep your costs in line… teach them that«value village IS the toy store». If you like finding book treasures, old CDs, electronics… there is always a treat waiting.

I’m almost reluctant to share the news that this is one of the better VV locations in the city. While Lansdowne and Queen West are always rewarding, this one cannot be beat for the selection of high quality clothes and the friendly and helpful staff. The housewares and toy sections are small(Lansdowne far superior in this regard), but the gentrification of the east end seems to have a positive influence on the clothing donations. It has the best handbag selection I’ve seen at any VV. It must have cleaned up since the reviews in 2010, although the bathroom is not very pleasant and they don’t have paper towels because they say the clientele use it to block the toilet(!). I credit the wonderful staff for creating a pleasant, well-organized shopping experience for the discerning thrift shopper.

The five star rating may be a tad overstated BUT the staff at this location cannot be beat. I was donating some clothes at this location in early July of last summer, as I was making a futile attempt to part with some unused items and gain back some needed closet space. As I parked my car and proceeded to the side entrance of the store I took cursory notice of a woman kneeling down attempting to provide water to an unruly canine. Now it is important to note that I had a large garbage bag hoisted upon my right shoulder and that my mid section was exposed and that it was one of the hottest days of the summer. I would later learn, after having this aforementioned canine tear up a good chunk of my stomach, that he had been left out in this atrocious heat for the better part of two hours! As my white t-shirt turned to red after being bit by this Pitbull-Chesapeake cross I was amazed at how quickly Value Village staff came to my aid. they called the police, administered various ointments and gauze and made sure that the dog owner(who was aimlessly shopping inside) didn’t attempt to flee the scene. They even offered transportation to the hospital and 15% off my next visit. Now that’s customer service.

Its a very rare day that finds me in a thrift store, but my mother-in-law was in town and has a fetish for finding value, so I had to duly oblige rather than face her wrath. As far as I can tell, this location has 99% crap and 1% stuff that’s okay, but I don’t need. Of course, come Halloween this may be different, but there’s nothing at all that caught my eye(besides a light fixture shaped like a duck which was sadly broken). There also seem to be two significant drawbacks to this location — the prices seem a little steep considering the items are second-hand, and the store feels a bit dirty. I won’t be back unless its in the wake of my mother-in-law.

I am quite the Value Village fan, and this one is close to home so I do drop by every now and then but I rarely find anything. I prefer to stop at the Victoria Park location on my way home from work.

I am a huge Value Village fan and make a point to hit up a VV at least once a month. I have been to several different locations and have learned that some are better than others. Immediately upon walking into the Woodbine/Danforth location I got the impression that it would not be one of the better trips. In a word, this location is dirty. There seems to be grime on everything. The housewares section is messy and hard to shop, the floors are in desperate need of a washing, and all the fixtures, shelving, and change rooms are crying to be wiped down with a sponge and hot soapy water. The item selection is mediocre, very few really good condition items and very few used brand name items. While I recommend Value Village for fellow thrift shoppers I would say your time searching for that awesome find is better spent at a different(cleaner) location.
