Everyone who is complaining that this is a third world market. Stop! This is 1st generation Canadians doing exactly the same thing most Canadians did when they first arrived when they got here, hustling to feed their families. The produce is is hit and miss but the prices are much better than you will find at a large chain grocery store. You have to know what you are looking for and what is ripe/overripe. I haven’t bought anything from the flea market itself yet. I’ll re-rate when I do.

As others have mentioned, you almost feel like you’ve stepped into a third world market when coming to the Weston Flea Market. But in my opinion, that’s not necessarily negative as that’s all part of its charm. There’s a wide variety of fruits and vegetables to be bought and there’s also a serviceable food court. There used to be an interesting Guyanese vendor stall called Nadira and Family Halal Cuisine but they’ve vacated the premises it seems(they served mostly Chinese food from Guyana). Last time I was at this market, I tried some Trinidadian food at a stall called Kavita’s Hot and Spicy Foods. Their Indo-Trinidadian food was alright. There’s also a Chinese stall as well as a Jamaican one.

A few people have mentioned this and I really felt the exact same way when I walked around — it felt like I was in a market in the third world. The ceiling and floors were broken and the ceiling was dripping into a bucket in one area right in the aisle. A lot of the vendor stores were messy and cluttered. I like to be generous with 3 stars. This is the third flea market that I went to check out on my own and its the worst. But its one of the only Toronto flea markets(out of 3 I think) and I would really like them to improve. St. Lawrence Market may be the cleanest, classiest, and most well known in Toronto, but the Downsview Park Merchants Market is quite nice too in a traditional way. I recommend checking all of them out for yourself especialy Downsview.

Toronto Weston Flea Market really looks and feels like a market in a Third World Country… The food market right outside the building itself does have quite a good selections of fresh fruits and vegetables just like a farmer market. The inside though really messy and not much things to buy or even to look at… Just a sad ghetto place!

When I came here I thought I stepped into another country, not in a good way tho. I think I’m being fairly generous by givin this flea market 2 stars. Most things that I found here were not so good things, crappy things if I may say so. I just walked around thinking I’d find something, I found absolutely nada! They have a ghetto food court In here, oh and they had bubble tea, but I chose not to risk it. I think that if you came here looking for something that you’d find in a flea market, You’d find it and maybe you’d buy it. Personally I wouldn’t buy anything here unless if it was something like a pair of shades, or a cd or something. That’s just my opinion

This place is in the ‘hood, so my SO and I check it out sometimes when we feel like doing something on the weekend. Really, the best things here are: 1. The pirated movie selection — anything you want, especially if it’s not on DVD yet. You have to get there early though, or the police will have busted them all. Movie shopping should be done before 11am or so. 2. The random finds: sometimes the produce is good, most of the time it’s gross; sometimes there are cool fashion finds, but most of the time it’s weird and/or cheap(there are GREAT knockoff«official» jerseys sometimes though); sometimes you’ll find a treasure in the used/antique booths, but most of the time it’s junk. It’s a fun trip, but more for the experience of the atmosphere and people than the shopping!
