While the selection isn’t that large, what this place has is very good. Service is excellent; the proprietor knows his stuff. This is one of the few spots in the area where local cheeses are the focus. Don’t be intimidated if you aren’t sure what an unfamiliar cheese tastes like, just ask. Not sure what goes with what when you’re entertaining guests? Just ask. It can seem a little pricey if you’re used to buying prepackaged generic cheese at the supermarket but if you want to try something new for a special occasion a stop here is worthwhile.

If you love cheese and you love personalize attention… this is the place to go. Marc truly knows his cheese and his clients. He once recommended that we should try the Scottish applewood cheddar instead of the regular applewood cheddar… We have never bought the regular applewood again.

I am a fan of this little cheese shop. Located on Roncesvalles, nestled in with the other great finds on that street, they are a small little cheese shop. I love the selection of cheese, the locally made pâté and ohhhh, the olives. Do give this little shop a try if you’re in the neighbourhood. The guys there know their stuff and it’s a lovely little browse on a weekend afternoon. Enjoy!

Say what you may, this little nook is close to where I live, and is just a hop, jump, and a skip away, so I do have a bias towards adoring this little boulengerie/fromagerie. The products are always fresh, and I have to admit I am marking 4 stars for the bread/baguettes, and not the cheese. If and when I taste the cheese I am sure it will go up to a 5 star spot. It is totally reminicient of a french boulengerie, right up to the operating hours, the size of the place, and the artisanal bread. Totally something for the locals, but not really worth hunting it down for from the other side of the city.

If chocolate is like sex, then cheese to me is like a three-way with Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio and they both just took a crap load of Viagra… in the way that I would be the sweet sexy cheese in the middle of that sandwich… …ahem. I…just really like cheese, is all… is all I’m saying. So I will never give a cheese shop less than three stars. Unless the owner is really rude or I get salmonella or mad cow or cheese-mold-itis or whatever it is you get from eating«bad» cheese. More to the point: This is a cute little cheese shop and IF I lived close by and IF I were throwing a party, I would go and buy some cheese here. They know their stuff and are not allowed to give out samples. But honestly? Their selection isn’t the largest and half the store is filled with merchandise that could otherwise be used to store cheese… …sweet, sensual, cheese.

One of the few stores opened on Roncesvalles Avenue Thanksgiving day. This teeny tiny shop is basically the size of a storage room, with a fridge casing in the middle on the room. They sell a small selection of breads, and specialize in Canadian cheeses. Go support a locale! woo hoo!
