I will preface this review by saying that I’ve been to 10 Spot numerous times at the Queen West location back when I lived on the west end and the experience was great! I moved to the east end and went to the Leslieville location a few times and I was overall pretty happy with it. But the most recent experience I had here was really bad. When I arrived, the staff wasn’t overly friendly. They didn’t say hi or offer to take my coat, but offered the woman who came in right after me. I was little put off but it was so minor that I just shrugged it off. I just didn’t feel very valued :(Now onto the wax — I had a Brazilian wax done which typically takes less than 10 mins.1,2,3…5 strips done and clean! This one took about 30 mins and when I was done, there were bits of wax still all over and it felt all sticky! The pieces of wax and stickiness in that«area» made for a very uncomfortable commute home! For the prices they charge and the reputation this chain has, I expected so much more. This isn’t a random small place I found on Groupon for $ 10, so I was very disappointed with this level of service. Not sure I will come back. I might just take the extra commute to the Queen West location or try a different place altogether that’s closer to me. BTW — I rarely write bad reviews so I feel super bad about writing this but I was pretty upset :(

Rude manager, hate the place! This is a about the worst location I have been too… All they want is $$$ over taking care of their clients!!! I complained to management and she literally said«oh» about the painful sticky left over waxing service and bad Manicure. Never returning!!!

The receptionists need to learn to be discreet ! I’ve been 3 times, and when I enter, I tell them my name and my appointment time. EVERYSINGLETIME, she has to announce«You’re here for a brazillian?» How low class can you get? Why don’t they just use a megaphone and let EVERYONE know why I’m there. It’s embarrassing and infuriating, they do not need to do this. I booked it online and I choose EXACTLY what I wanted, so why do they have to humiliate their clients? There were 3 girls behind the desk when I went in, and 2 customers lined up to pay for their services, and they all heard it. Well, they won’t have the chance to do this again, I won’t be back.

I’ve been here a few times now and the staff is very welcoming and lovely. The only issue I have is that I’ve had gel pedicures the last couple of times I’ve been and two of the nails(the polish, not the toe nail), came off within 2 – 4 days… gel should last much longer than that. They didn’t seem to be as thorough and it’s an expensive service for only a couple days of wear.

I’ve had a few manicures at this location. The first time, the girl wasn’t great and needed to be asked to remove nail polish from around my cuticles but she was pleasant and friendly enough. When she was doing my cuticles, it sort of hurt and I don’t think I’ve ever had that before. The second time I went, I had much better service. The girl was very precise and did a good hand massage. I love that you can drink beer while you’re getting your mani/pedi! It’s a convenient location in the Beaches when I visit my friend out in that direction. The Ten Spot is really expensive but is ok for an occasional treat.

Beware ladies, The Ten Spot on Queen Street East… Has doesn’t get a favourable review from me. My friend and I were there on Saturday May 30th2015. We each booked an appointment for a pedicure and I included an eyebrow waxing for myself. When we went to pay for their services we were told the charge for the pedicure $ 50.00, which surprised us both, because when we booked our appointment I looked at the price list and said to my friend and receptionist it was $ 38.00 which the receptionist acknowledged. I didn’t think it was anything of the ordinary. The reason they charged us more is because we received a 2 minute massage and foot scrub. What they failed to tell us was that there are 2 prices for pedicures. The receptionist assumed we wanted the more expensive package. Now in all of my years of receiving pedicures from reputable establishments never has there been an extra charge for a foot massage(which by the way was lousy and lasted no more than 2 minutes) or foot scrub. My friend didn’t even get a foot massage. The store manager Reluctantly listened to our complaint as we explained that they need to inform prospective clients of the 2 different prices and what they include or not include. Did I mention that they wanted to charge me extra for my eyebrow waxing because the estatisian used tweezers, again they did not mention there was 2 prices when when I was booking. Oh and Btw the young lady that waxed my eyebrows did an awful job… She burnt my skin just under each brow. Now I have 2 big red burn marks on my face. The manager only took 20% off our bills. What she should have done was given us a complimentary pedi, mani or wax and perhaps offer an apology. Unfortunately she did not offer any of the afore mentioned. How sad that customer service and lack of good staff training has declined. Ladies my revenge is writing this bad review and emplore you not to patronize The Ten Spot — Queen St East(Leslieville).

Really wanted to have a better experience at this location as it’s super close to where I live, but unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. To start off the seating for pedicures gets uncomfortable really fast throughout the service that felt rushed. It was actually painful during the cuticle work, something that never bothered me at other salons. Giving them 2 stars because the end result looked good(like others) and lasted as it should.

Sarah did my eyebrows yesterday and they look great. She’s such a sweetheart and she gave me some awesome tips on making my caterpillar eyebrows look perfect. The staff is so friendly and welcoming! It’s pricey, for sure, but it was worth it.
