The Second Cup

Ok so here’s the deal there are 2 Second Cupstores within 200 yards of each other… why? Because the Jewish Community Center was going to put in a Starbucks and the owners figured no way… good move right? Wrong! The other Second Cup across e street is the original one in the neighborhood and light years better. Much closer to the original Second Cup ideal, homey, relaxed, comfy and very friendly. This one is way busy and modern, stark and borderline cold. Way too busy and the staff is overworked. It is messy and dirty and lacks the soul… the coffee is still great and puts Starbucks to shame but I am so glad the owners had the foresight to keep their original store in the hood. Don’t waste time here go to the real deal!

I usually come here when in Toronto near U of T’s campus. It’s bright and usually clean (ish). The staff aren’t as friendly as I remember them in the past.
The coffee’s not that great, but it never is here. The muffins sell well enough that they’re always fresh, tho’, which is a plus.
The washrooms are maintained by the Community Ctr in which it’s located and are pretty decent.
This location needs more outlets.
