The Mobile Shop at Real Canadian Superstore

Long story short: Went in and signed up happy, didn’t get phone right away, waited for phone and panicked, then things worked itself out.
I did some brief research at work for cheap phone with cheap plan. This was turned out to be the Moto G, and apparently Virgin Mobile since there was a promo. And, so I went to my most convenient place, which was the Mobile Shop, to get a cheap phone with a cheap plan. The CSR helped me get through the sign-​up process reasonably quickly. I didn’t get the phone right away, but I left the store reasonably satisfied.
The phone was expected to arrive in two days. It ended up taking the rest of the work week. I wasn’t too pleased with the delay. This would not have been that big of a deal normally for me. The phone was meant for emergencies. But it was a particularly stressful week, and combined with the realization that I was being charged for phone service during the time that I didn’t even have the phone on hand, I was not too happy.
This made me panic and call Virgin Mobile (which I signed the contract for) customer service. The CSR from Virgin Mobile made me panic even more because she stated that it was irregular for me to be billed immediately when I didn’t even have a phone yet. She told me that I should go back to the Mobile Shop and speak to someone to make sure that I get the phone I picked or any other phone *immediately*, or simply cancel the plan and go elsewhere.
From that whirlwind, I called the Mobile Shop. The Mobile Shop CSR promised me that it would take another three days for my phone to arrive. I was worried that the phone wouldn’t arrive by then and that I would have to cancel and go through the trouble of signing up again elsewhere. I took a gamble on those three days, and called again the next day to ensure that the phone would arrive.
Fortunately, the phone did arrive by the second time. And just by luck, the promo had increased on that and I got an extra gift card. Things worked out after all.
I’m not sure when I need a phone or a plan again, but I got what I needed. I had my phone finally and I left happy.
Another note:
This location doesn’t appear to be too busy, so that should be a plus for those of you who don’t want to wait around like me.
