Sweet Magic

Sweet Magic is located in the Chinatown Center on Spadina. It is at the center of the mall accessed through the doors by the hotel on Spadina or the entrance directly opposite at the rear of the building. The proprietor is from Hong Kong and is a fantastic purveyor of Asian sweets from several countries. Japan seems to be a favourite of his. In addition to the candies, he also sells a nice selection of jerky in both beef and pork and in various flavours ranging from sweet to hot. He explained that since imported jerky was not legal, the jerky is made in Toronto. It’s fun to check out the colourful packaging used for interesting flavours of chips. He also carries many varieties of Pocky’s, the thin chocolate sticks, and as well the gum flavours from Japan as sure to surprise and delight ! The other cool thing about him is that he usually gives me a deal when buying a pocket full of treats. Highly recommended.
