I think SF has changed ownership since the last review. The store has been renovated and has a different layout. Cleaner than before. The cashier(one of them at least) is very nice. The usual convenience store prices, but they do have lots of fresh veg and fruit to choose from, and deli-type foods in a cooler. A handy place to go late at night.

Newly renovated and nicely! Late night 24 hour store that has just about everything you could want or need. Friendly service and good mix of necessities. Unfortunately with the opening of the giant Loblaw’s, we could lose this village treasure. Let’s not forget to support this store or we could end up with another coffee shop taking its place. Or worse, another vacant store with another for lease sign. As a community we have to be more responsible and loyal or we will end up with a lot of franchises on Church Street.

Open 24 hours and a long-thriving legacy in the Village, Super Freshmart is the largest independent grocer(not owned/affiliated with a national/regional chain) in the Church & Wellesley Village. Wide selection of produce, speedy check out clerks, and grocery items readily available at anytime, this retailer does serve the community well. Minus points are narrow aisles, décor, and prices(you can find much cheaper prices at neighboring Loblaws, No Frills, and Metro). Area outside the store serves as somewhat of an unoffcial Village square for those patronizing the strip’s many businesses on the weekend. Worth a check if you’re in the area and require a grocery item at the wee hours of the evening.

The Supah-Fresh! Far better than your average convenience store/corner grocery, while not able to really hold a candle to the real grocery stores and produce stands around. Not the cheapest, but also not the priciest. AND: — Open 24/7, no matter how shitty the weather or how high-profile the holiday — MUCH better selection of healthy-ish snacking alternatives than anywhere else open 24⁄7 — Really, really nice ladies who work the counters. Yes, I did once get a jar of dip that was expired, but they exchanged it with no hassles whatsoever and apologized profusely. So, I give that a pass and now check expiration dates, just in case. As long as you’re expecting an above-average 24-hour corner store, you’ll be totally satisfied with the Supah-Fresh. Sure, its not perfect(avoid the produce section, for example), but in a neighborhood that has everything a reasonably foodie person could want(MLF Loblaws, About Cheese, Cumbrae’s, Pusateri’s, etc.), it’s pretty good!

Hooray for Super Freshmart! We have been looking for a store that has at least some of what we usually prefer to buy, and these guys are way up there. We don’t mind going elsewhere for produce so that aspect is not a big deal — they have enough to get us through usually. The coffee brand we like the best, lots of asian snax that we are used to from Vancouver. Basically, our favourite place to buy the necessities, then we fill in the blanks with the cheese shop or separate vegetable stores. The staff are sweet and yes indeed, the hours are fantastic. Best thing: Calbee Snappea Crisps Coffee: Kicking Horse Produce: Bananas!

Mixed reviews here, but I like this place. It doesn’t seem much more expensive than Metro(definitely cheaper than a Rabba), but you’ll find a lot of brands that you just won’t find in Metro. I’ve gone in for one or two items and end up walking out with some cool things that can be harder to find(e.g. chocolate chai tea, dark chocolate tim tams, barley and chickory«coffee»). And they have Northern Spy apples(which you can’t find a Metro or Sobey’s…not sure about Loblaws). Some good snack foods, and nice staff that don’t seem to hate the world and all its inhabitants(Metro). It’s worth a closer look.

Have you ever had late night craving for salty snacks? Or you are about to hit the sack and realize that you have no cream or milk for your morning coffee? Super Freshmart is a good place to acquire essential staple items and, of course, sweet and salty snacks(to satisfy your late night craving). But not a good place for fresh produce, however. They generally have poor selections of them there. I like that the store opens 24 hours.

Damnit Wendy H. Of course you have reviewed this place. What can I say. This is my corner store. I have seen it move from old cash registars, to new ones that use computer monitors [fancy]. Lovely staff. Very quiet and kinda. And did I mention OPEN24HOURS! You can get a variety of things here… being a variety store, but I mainly use it for when I don’t want to go too far. [Milk — they carry the nice glass bottle kind, Yogurt — huge selection, any brand of Water, plus it’s a mini store with some fresh foods, et al, but I mostly stick to its packaged items. I reccommend it, if you live in the nieghbourhood and it’s 2 am, and Sobeys is just Toooo far away. or Dominion is tooo far away. haha. Yeah. It’s not a ima travel their because their Jiffy Peanut Butter has a orange sticker that says 3.49… [made up cost]… Ah you know what i mean. Open all day. Has a variety of items. That’s good in my books.

Superfresh Mart… I have a love hate relationship with you… Superfresh, as I affectionately call this corner quickie mart is like drug dealer… they are so close to my house(I can see them from my balcony), but so bad… and know they have you hooked since they are in the heart of the ‘hood and there are not many supermarkets around that area, let alone ones that are open 24hours. They carry a lot of products, considering the small space, and even have produce — not the best produce, but produce none the less. I think, and this is just between you and me ;), that they are either getting misprint packages, or go to stores that have sales and then buy a MASSAMOUNT and sell it for a higher cost. Why do I say this? Well about a year ago, I noticed that they had Flakies there… You know the puffed pastry filled with cream and jam… yummmmmmm…well you could get a whole box, that’s 6 flakies, for 3 dollars, yes the price written on the box by the manufacture was something like $ 4. I know it’s only a dollar less… what when have you EVER known a company to LOOSE money. They also don’t always have the same products, there is never any consistency with brands or even flavours of brands. I’ll admit, I’m lazy, so I tend to get things here that I know I could find other places cheaper… but that’s what you get for convince. They hardly ever have specials, but when they do, they are good ones, like 2 lbs of strawberries for $ 3. The prices can be high, and all of a sudden you’re up to $ 20 for 5 items… I’ve heard bad bad things about some of the products from friends, like they have switched best before dates and such… but I’ve never had a problem. Their staff is less then helpful, and I’ve had many a fight with the cash people for the simple reason that their debit machine HATES me. Even though they have a «chip» machine, it NEVEREVER works… I thought it was only my card, until a friend of mine had the same problem, and he’s not with the same bank as I am. When I’ve complained, they say it’s my card and not their machine… and have never changed it. I was and still am a bit suspicious that it’s copying cards… so now I only go with cash. I hate this place, but the only reason I go there is because it’s so simple.

Supafresh is a frequent life saver for me, with a total trip time of three minutes from apartment door to fruit aisle. I find it useful for each of the following emergencies: * Late night kitty litter runs * Late night watermelon runs * Late night drink mix runs * Late night grape runs The place is open 24/7, so it’s a frequent lifesaver(oh no! The cats are out of food! Super Fresh Mart to the rescue!). Lots of things are a little more ‘spensive than your local Sobeys, but it works in a pinch(I suffer many pinches). Good fruit selection — I buy lots of pre-chopped watermelon and ripe avocados, and the grapes are often le best. If I didn’t live in the neighbourhood, there would be no real need to make a special trip; if Pusateri’s is open, I’ll usually go there for my produce and bottled water instead. But otherwise SFM gets lotsa love from me for their polite cashiers and late night rescue remedies.
