Such a beautiful park with an awesome view of Lake Ontario. Great place for a walk, bike ride or jog.

So much love for this park. So much to do, so much to see!!! First of all, easy access — right on Lakeshore and there are numerous parking lots so even if you drive by a few, you’ll find a place to park. I was there on a Sunday in September and didn’t have to pay for parking — WINNING. All the machines are covered so I’m not sure if they don’t charge in September at all, or if it’s just Sundays. Either way, worth it even if you have to give the City a few bucks. THINGSTODO: — Paddle Boarding — the greatest water sport I have done so far(aside from jetski). — Canoeing — Kayaking — Not swimming. Gross — stepping into that water to get onto the paddle board almost made me vom. Right by the Sunnyside pavilion, there is a rental place where a nice boy called Amar will teach you how to do, when to do and where to do. It’s free and he’s an amazing teacher. Go for a walk along the boardwalk, DON’T GOFOR A WALKALONGTHEBIKEPATH!!! WTHPEOPLE. I hope one day you do that in Amsterdam and get run over by a psycho biker. I won’t even be sad. Just don’t do it, I almost crashed into a girl who’s boyfriend was«walking her» on the bike path while he walked on the pedestrian path. I HATEYOU!!! Rant over. Amazing view of the Toronto skyline. Great romantic spot if you wanna make out n stuff on the rocks to the splashes of Humber beneath your feet. There is a pool but tis closed now — it operates June to Sept only. FUNFACT: Sunnyside Pavilion was built in the 20s so it’s got an amazing eerie look to it, and it was originally built as a changing facility for people who were going to swim in Lake Ontario. When people realized that muf*ka is cold as all hell, a pool was built. history rant over. Go here. Bring kids to the playground, loved ones to make out with, blankets to eat on, bikes to ride and running shoes to jog. DOITALL. I love Toronto.

Uhm… uh… kind of gross. We came here just to hang out and sit on the beach. Mind you, we usually head to Hanlan’s, but we were running low on sunlight hours so we busted it to Sunnyside. If you want to just splash around on a nice beach, this may not be the place for you. When we came here, the flag was red, meaning FORTHELOVEOFGODDON’T GOINTHEWATER. So that’s out. The sand is also not as nice as on the other beaches in the city. It’s sort of neat having that café right there, though the prices were a bit outside our range at the moment. The hot dog carts are there for an alternative, though. The place was pretty busy with families, many who were bbqing on hibachis and picnicing on the grassy areas. For proximity to the city, it’s not bad, but it doesn’t give you that feeling of getting away from the city, which is usually what I want out of a beach. Also, don’t know if it’s just me, but the place just feels kind of filthy…

I always look forward to paddling, kicking up sand, and enjoying the beautiful sunsets. I come down here twice a week in the summer for dragon boating and I often see volleyball teams here playing. I love the Pavilion on site. The food is decent. I’ve never swam in the pool, but the change room area is large and it has plenty of lockers for rental at the cost of a quarter(¢25). The pool went through a nice upgrade last summer too. Great for hot humid summer days(like today 33°C). You may not want to swim in it though, the water is really dirty especially after a rainy day. I wish they cleaned up the water more regularly(it is not the floating twigs I worry about). It’s a great place to roller blade, bike and take scenic walks. There are plenty of geese, swans, I’ve even spotted some kind of otter. Great place to bring the kids too. I would rate it 4 stars if the water was cleaner.
