So, I thought I would write a much delayed update regarding my foot and the clinic. This time around, everything went pretty smoothly and fast. When one of the attendants cut my fibrecast off, I was so shocked to see how thin my leg became. Essentially, it was just bone and lots of skin hanging down(loss of muscle). X-rays were done and the doctor said that my foot was healing, but not 100%. I was told I would be needing an air cast which is not covered by OHIP(so private insurance) and costs $ 150(I got the short boot so not sure if the taller boot costs more). My next appointment is 2 weeks away so hopefully my next progression is back to regular shoes. By the way, as of this point, the fracture clinic does not accept AMEX cards so if you think you will need to be purchasing something, bring VISA or Mastercard.

Had to come here for check ups when I had screws inserted in my shoulder.(Long story). Staff are business-minded and quick and they have to be with the amount of people that are in the waiting room. Turnover is fast though. Sucks that you really have two appointments: one for the X-rays and one to see the doctor. Be kind to the nurses/assistants: they’re the ones that remove dressings and in my case, the vast number of staples holding my wound together.
