The slightly hidden sidewalk patio and large open indoor space furnished with dark wooden furnishings are both comfortable and even a tad classy at this low key bar. However, as one of my table mates pointed out, the collage of bad rock posters(yes, there are good ones out there!) gives the room a total«dudey college dorm» feeling. On this rather quiet mid-week night, Skal got bonus points for screening Dark City with full sound on their large projector screen. However, half of those points gets taken away for their glaring flat screen behind the bar that was competing by playing the game(although this could possibly be their saving grace for you if you ever misplace your glasses and need to catch the highlights by sitting right up at the bar). I’m not hating on sports bars, but Dark City AND the game at the same time? Make up your mind! The selection of beers listed on the chalkboard are considerable with cheap jugs for sharing(and saving). We didn’t order any food, but gave had to suppress a second thought after catching a glimpse of our neighbouring table’s pub fare.
