Small store with decent products. Staff is very rude, disorganized and accusatory. Every time I’ve popped in to grab something quickly I have to re-live then inconvenience of something ie. Line up at the till because only one cashier is open, or I stepped past a certain line and need to be harshly disciplined, or … Goodness there is just too many absurd incidents I’m almost ashamed for SDM so won’t share it.

My advice, try not to buy anything full price and opt in for optimum points! Everything usually ends up on sale one week over another and there are great promotions to earn points fast!

Why is there always a line here? I’ve come during lunch hours, after work hours, afternoon hours. Always a lineup. Good thing is the stock here is good — the good sales that wipe out other stores seems to miss this store. Also they make generous use of the Managers coupons on dairy… Once the Danone drinkable yogurt had 4 coupons on it, making it $ 1 with 2 days left to expire. Score! Staff here are OK. Not the best of attitudes but no complaints!

Definitely not one of the larger Shoppers, which begs the question: why is the front cash check-out THE worst check-out of any Shopper’s Drug Mart I’ve seen, and I do mean anywhere? It is very common to see the lines at the front to exceed 10 – 12 people during the evening and just as busy during the day; the weird thing is that management KNOWS the problems with the check-out; they have 4 check-outs but at the most, even when people are in line forever, and upset, will you ever see more then 2 check-outs open. It’s completely infuriating and I have seen many people just drop their cart at the front and leave because of the lack of customer service at the front; me being one of them. Other services are pretty standard — generally ok selection but another point to add. If you need medication from the pharmacy, don’t expect it fast. Wait times at the pharmacy are and can be insane; I’ve waited for pills for over ½ hr and that’s pretty average wait time. Don’t bother calling their«MEDREADYSYSTEM» the night or day before — the pharmacy will NOT have it prepared, so be prepared for long waits for at times, rather crucial medication. No one at the pharmacy seems to realise how upset people are at waiting so incredibly long for their prescriptions!!! Oh the flip-side, asides from pharmacy screw-ups, the main pharmacists are really very good and honestly try to RECTIFY mistakes; that is what good customer service is — TRYING to fix errors quickly with some resolution. Remember, ½ the time there is a problem with a prescription? It is not the pharmacist: it’s the DOCTOR or DOCTOR’S office!

Not one of the largest Shopper’s Drug Mart, however I can shop here with my smaller dog which is key for me. Because there is no open food(everything is sealed in packaging) you can bring your dog in. Some of the Shopper’s Drug Marts in Toronto are not allowing smaller dogs to come in anymore, but they do. Everyone is friendly and willing to help you. The pharmacist remembers you by name. Awesome!

Great selection and store is well organized. It’s one of my favorite of the Shoppers Drug Marts within walking distance due to it’s size and selection. Only hang-up here is lines at cashier tend to be long on weekday evenings and on weekends. Have complained to corporate about this three times but nothing has been done to bring more cashiers on board.

I’m adding this because I find that for a big retail store the staff are always really friendly. The ladies at the cosmetics counter are very helpful when trying to find something my wife has sent me over to pick up. The pharmacy is quick and knowledgeable and the general sales staff seem genuine. Also on a side note, the photo printing machines they have are REALLYCHEAP and produce a decent print, compared to say Wal-Mart’s machines.
