I went by a couple of times and I really wanted to try it as I know that it is new. I tried the buffet. This is typical Indian food, it was not Sri Lanken. Sri Lanken food is burning hot, all the food in the buffet was very mild and typically what you would find in an Indian resto. I had the goat — tender and very good, the butter chicken — very good, the dahl — excellent, the spinach — bland and below par, the cauliflower — excellent, pakoras — ok, and I ate it with roti, which was very good. There were no salads, condiments or desserts with the buffet. It was rather sparse. Some people came in while I was there and ordered the dosa among other things. They asked for a dessert menu but there was none. I got there kinda later and while I was eating, the lady asked if I was finished with the buffet, I guess she wanted to clean up. It’s been two days and I feel a bit sick, had to stay home yesterday with that runny D feeling and am still nauseous. I think maybe because the food was there for awhile? Don’t know, but I won’t eat from the buffet late anymore, not even sure I may eat from the buffet again… hmmm.

Two words: Kothu Roti. I LOVE this place. I was introduced to Sri Lankan food by friends who live in the neighbourhood. This place just opened up a few weeks ago. Its modest décor, but clean and comfortable to eat in. There is ~5 family size tables. For the two times I’ve been there, it wasn’t too busy, and had no problems being served and getting a seat right away. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. I would go back just for the warm service. But most importantly the food rocks! I tried the chicken Kothu Roti… its like a drug. I could eat a whole container, which is easily shared by two, and price is very reasonable($ 5.99). I’ve also tried the Biriyani, made Sri Lankan style, which is a little sweeter. The Uthapam is also delicious… its a ½inch thick pratah(umm…think of a thick naan filled with potato and onion). I will definitely return for more Kothu Roti! Also on my list to try is their Thali and Masala Dosa! The items I had were from their individual menu. They also have an all-you-can eat buffet for 9.99. Its more… chicken curry etc, not my thing, but you may love it! If you love Sri Lankan food, or are interested in trying, go here! You won’t be disappointed :)
