Yeah this Salvation Army is a little rough around the edges, but if you hunt you will find. I always score some sweet deals each time I wander in here. I consider myself a pretty avid thrifter and this is my favourite second hand store. Prices are are way cheaper than Value Village, and the selection is comparable. There’s a decent book and clothing section. Housewares and furniture aren’t as bountiful but gems do still lurk. I was just here the other day and bought a Sigg bottle, authentic Guinness mug, lululemon tee, cardigan from an Urban Outfitters brand, and a couple other tops(everything in brand new condition) for pennies. The t-shirts were all like $ 3.99 and the long sleeves/sweaters were all around $ 5.99. Yes the store is a tad on the small side, compared to the VV’s to the west, but bigger ain’t always better –am I right ladies?!

This place pales in comparison to the Value Village just down the street. It’s small, cramped and disorganized. Sorry, y’all.

Fair enough assessment from Keidi K., though I’ve actually found there to be a surprisingly decent selection of furniture — and some interesting vintage finds that come right outta left field. You have to be patient for furniture, and really watch the window displays while on walk-bys, but thankfully this Salvation Army has HUGE window displays, so you don’t have to really go *in* to see what’s available! I saw an absolutely amazing four poster bed there once… upon returning it was, not surprisingly, already gone. Sigh. We’ve also managed to score an abundance of excellent designer fabrics for sewing — not sure, but I suspect there are some pros living in the area who are giving up their ends for thrifters to enjoy. We appreciate it! As for the rest of it? Same ol’ boring knick knacks and books, old ratty games(yet to find a «good» boardgame here), over-loved toys, and so on, with the odd TO staple of new mattresses for sale. And, as Keidi has said, there’s clothes. Lots and lots of clothes. Still, I haven’t bought a single t-shirt in this SA… all of Blo-downe’s good t-shirts seem to end up at the VV. Still, it’s conveniently located near our laundromat of choice and Holy Oak, so laundry nights are rarely without something interesting to do!

Just another of the Salvation Army thrift stores in Toronto. This is fairly small location but with good prices. If you are looking for mostly clothes this is the place to come, anything else however there is little to none.
