I wasn’t happy with my experience here: it took the woman doing my nails 1.5 hours for a shellac manicure that is already cracking and pretty messy(see inside of nails photo). She had to get up and leave me sitting several times to do a waxing and help other customers. I wouldn’t mind if it had taken her half the time and if the price were cheaper(35 is asking a lot for sub par work I think).

I always have a really good time coming here because the staff is always very nice and the salon is always kept clean and up to standards. I have come here for the past couple of years for my hair, manicure and pedicure; its always been done professionally. I can’t wait to go back and see them again!

I’ve been a regular at Q8 for awhile, they have always done an good job on my nails and prices seemed in line with other nail salons in the area. This being said, I will no longer come here based on an incident that was both unprofessional and out of line. As I was going to pay for my services, I realized that I had forgotten to transfer my debit, credit card and drivers license out of my beach bag and back into my wallet which is what I had brought with me to the salon. I inform the woman that I live down the street and I need to go home and get my cards in order to pay; I don’t have cash either. The woman asks for a drivers license as collateral and I explain that I don’t have that either, it’s in my beach bag. I offer my health card instead. The woman starts arguing with me and being really nasty, telling me I shouldn’t have gone out without my cards and that she won’t take my health card because that can be replaced for free. I apologize profusely and let her know that it was an honest mistake and I will be back to pay in no more than 30 minutes. She keeps saying nasty things and basically accusing me of being a thief and doing it on purpose. I leave to go get my cards. As I’m walking, I am halfway down high park blvd(about a 10 minute walk from the salon), I turn around to see the woman CHASING me down the street, she FOLLOWEDMEHOME continuing to yell at me and causing a scene on the street. Everyone is staring. She said I live too far away and that she thinks I am planning to not come back to pay my bill(even though they have my health card at this point). I am an honest person and had every intention of coming back immediately to pay the bill. I did not appreciate being followed such a far distance and being berated by a psycho Asian woman in broad daylight in front of neighbors. I am disappointed this happened because I did like the salon but now it feels too awkward to go back. They lost a regular customer over a $ 58 bill, their loss. Very poor customer service having someone like that on staff.

Three stars for the pedicure. Not bad but not great either. Definitely not worth $ 25. Manicure, negative 1 star. A waste of my time and money. I could have done better myself at home. Correction, my 10 year old niece could have done better. She physically pushed my cuticles back with her own nails(not effective and definitely not sanitary), did a single coat with clear nail polished, and had me apply my own lotion after I requested some because my hands felt like they were on fire after she used her own gangly nails to attempt pushing my cuticles back. Not sure how this place has good reviews but I’m sure if my niece started doing manicures she would have reviews better than this. Avoid if possible but if you’re desperate spend your $ 10 buying the supplies and DIY.

Nail technician had a severe case of conjunctivitis in one eye which is highly contagious. I only noticed when I was already seated for a mani pedi and went through with it anyway –was too tired to bother to go somewhere else. The manicure was bubbly and missed areas(once out I realized) and the cuticle cleaning was rough– got nipped on my toenail. Staff are still pleasant, and take you even when busy. Unfortunately, the quality was compromised.

I’ve gone here twice for acrylics and gel polish and they always do an amazing job. My acrylics aren’t as thick as most other places do them, thus they look really natural! Their also super friendly and well priced too.

Conveniently located at the northern border of Ronces, this is my regular mani/pedi spot($ 35 for both services). Cheap and cheerful, some ladies are better than others(ask for Kim, she’s meticulous with cuticle clean up and will never make you feel rush, even when there are people waiting at the door).

Had a really positive first experience here today. Called at 6:10 pm on a Sunday(they close at 7) to see if they do biogel & shellac manis. They told me to come on in and I’m so glad I did. They were very friendly and sweet. Super efficient and my nails look beautiful! And completely reasonably priced. So happy they’re located in my neighbourhood cause I’ve found me an awesome nail salon! Thank you!!!

Perfect to get the job done. Nothing to brag about. I thought they were a bit on the expensive side(35 for shellac manicure)? But that said, they are 110% better than the place next door! I will go back for sure. UPDATE: My nails did nothing but chip. Literally, each day a new one chipped. I have started carrying a file with me because they are so bad. I am not happy about it.

Great nail salon, excellent service, quick always accommodating and polite. Prices are really competitive, massage is great and they always have the food network on, which is excellent.

I got a great, cheap shellac pedi here on a monday. Walked in with a friend and they took us right away. The ladies who did my toes were super sweet, gentle, and professional. Also, as someone without cable tv television, it was awesome to watch the food network! I’ll totally go back!

Q8 has set a new standard for pedicure perfection; a touch so gentle I dozed off and woke later with perfectly polished toes. Every pedicure I have had here(going back almost six years) has been beautiful and drama(pain) free. Staff are friendly, welcoming and skilled. TVs are at a considerate volume and tuned to uncontroversial options like the food network, or cp24. The salon is clean and comfortable and kids are welcome — I saw two little cuties get sharp haircuts while I was still awake. More nail salons have appeared near Roncy — one even cheeky enough to set up shop next door to Q8 and put out a sign declaring superior hygienic condition — but this is the only one that I use and recommend without reservation.

Went with my friend for a pedi, they did a fantastic job. Attentive and thorough, resulting in a perfect pedi! Will be returning. :)
