Came here on a Friday night it was pretty dead… We were the only party in the upstairs area. Had the blueberry muffin drink and must say it is not my kind of drink and for $ 15. We ordered the peirogies and fries to share, portions were really small and the food is subpar compared to some other more economical options in the area. I found it a bit weird that they were playing music and someone was also playing an instrument. Service was good though, was greeted coming in, had a new menu right away, checked on regularly when we left we were also greeted and thanked.

His place was fantastic! Everything you would imagine an old world vodka bar might be. We had vodka, caviar, smoked salmon! But best of all, when we said it was our first time, the hostess sat down and had a shot with us!

Had a lovely time as always during happy hour 4 to 7 for a friend’s farewell. Nobody ate anything but the food is good based on past experience. I had the Red Square for 6.60 and Lenins Black Bison for 13.50, both based on the bartender’s recommendations. Both were delicious but somehow drinks always get finished too fast! Ambiance is sophisticated and quirky but not cheesy or kitschy. Staff are delightful and seasoned. Bathrooms are reasonably clean. Lots of different seating areas. This place gets busy fast!

Pravda is a good spot for good drinks or a good time. You will see a consistent theme of Pravda holding the line claiming it is full but the bouncers will let any ladies who talk to them and let them feel important for a second, into the club. Under normal circumstances that is fine but when it is minus 6 outside and been in the line for 45 mins that is unacceptable. Nothing will change bec that’s how it is there but just a heads up

It’s a cool bar to go to when bar hopping. To be perfectly honest, I don’t remember much from the only time I’ve been there [I was hammered]. I did the vodka tasting with a friend of mine. The dude thought he could go shot for shot with me… he was trying to impress girls but he ended up blacking out completely and waking up in a ditch, without his clothes on. Like Yorgi would say«Everything is okay with enough Vodka.» *Russian Accent*

Stumbled upon this place with a friend on a Saturday night. It was quite busy, but we got in without any wait time. The bouncers were nice — but a bit pretentious. It was quite busy, and all the booths were booked up. The crowd as good — mid 20s to mid 30s I’d say and everyone was having a good time. The music was good, and I loved the guys playing djembe and trumpet live along with the music. Nice touch. Décor was very USSR to say the least. They stopped the music to play soviet anthem and about a dozen patriots sang along. It’s pretty cool… The crowd was a bit too pretentious and the hard core soviet theme really isn’t for me. I’d probably go back.

I can’t say enough good things about the service here. We made a reso for very early, 6pm and they had just opened. From the moment we walked in we were treated as valued guests. Nice to have the whole place to ourselves for a couple hours for a romantic supper and cocktails. This place is really, really a vodka bar and as such they only have one beer available(which my fiancé said was good) and all the cocktails are vodka based. That being said I tried 3 martinis which were all very tasty and well made. They have a limited menu and the food was great. My fiancé had the chicken Kiev and pierogies and I had the lamb. Bonus: a new woman was training and a manager brought her over to give us a complimentary vodka tasting. The place is so cool. They have all kinds of great booths for parties. I can’t wait to come back with with a bigger group.

Spacious lounge with a Russian prohibition speak easy feel and lighting. Good for a large or small group. We had a group of 10 and were able to sit together comfortably. Good martini variety.

We came here Friday evening for the happy hour special(4−7pm) each enjoyed a different martini before heading out for dinner. We loved each of drink we tried I had apple martini. The décor and atmosphere in this place were amazing I can’t speak for the food as we didn’t have any. Our experience here was so amazing we had to show our friends joining us for dinner Saturday and made return visit back to back nights. I look forward to returning when in the city again.

The 4 stars are because I have met solid 9’s and 10’s which led into a string of FWB on the way. Other than that the servers are rude at it’s best. Management some arrogant rich f**cks and the bouncers ohh such self entitled gems. Vodka is good, interesting décor. Lately the crowd is getting ugly tho. Will continue to visit the place anyway as I have a tremendous popularity with the ladies there. Cheers.

If I could leave no stars I would. I went to Pravda with a girl friend on Friday around 10:30. There was a line up which we got in and started to queue. As we inched closer to the front we over heard the bouncer(with a sad man bun) say that he could not let anyone in until 25 ppl leave the venue. Understandable for safety reasons and as my friend and I were next in line he continued to say we could not go in yet. Yet, 2 girls who jumped the line and chatted the bouncer up saying they didn’t have reservations but would love to go in — he let them in when it was my friend and I who should have been next. We continue to wait for an hour. Another lady comes to the front of the line from the side and chatted up the bouncer explaining that the wait was long but she really wanted to try the place. He also let her and her friends in!!! When we called him out on it he said it was his childhood friend. First of all that is irrelevant had it been true because we were still next in line and there would have still been a safety hazard 25 ppl over!!! Secondly, we overheard their entire conversation and know that she did not know him before then. Interestingly all the ladies who were let in were all Caucasian. My friend and I were ethnic minorities and I’m not racially sensitive as we live in Toronto for God sakes but never had I experienced such rude behaviour at any establishment(even worse clubs). When my friend expressed her issue and asked why other were let in who clearly jumped the line the man bun bouncer said I don’t tell you how to do your job so don’t tell me how to do mine. Obviously I decided not to give my money to Pravda and had a wonderful evening elsewhere. Will definitely never go back there!

It is a russian themed bar that grabs all the fun stereotypes of russia and puts them on a fun display. It is a very trendy and classy place. We went there for a large dinner party. They had buffet dinner with some very well prepared food. The problem is, the location is not meant for that many people eating dinner. There were no places to sit and eat! The lineup for the food was a mess as well. Still, the place is very nice to hang out. Just ask for little to no ice in your drinks.

Basic Russian style cuisine and vodka bar! Veal pelmeni tastes super great but it is a little greasy for me. Lamb with berries in the main course is amazing !!

We just left Pravda bar after walking 10min from our friends condo on the esplanade, after arriving at 1:50am, with nobody being rude or intoxicated, we were told by the bouncer(who refused to provide his name) but was shorter with a pony tail. That we could not come inside. I mentioned it’s our friends birthday and we just wanted to buy a round of shots and drinks for her.(aprox 20 drinks/20 shots) and I was told no. His reason was«We do not let people in at 2:00am» I showed him my phone which at that point read 1:54am and he still said no. With no time to argue, i’m not gonna sit there begging to spend money, we went next door and ordered 20+ shots at East 36, the service was excellent. i’ll never go back to Pravda

Wonderful cocktails, so delicious!!! Happy hours make this a must-visit bar. The seating is extremely odd. There’s a gipsy tent near the wall, almost like you’re sitting around a fortune teller. But as skinny as I am, I had trouble getting in/out. Other seating are sofas around some centre tables. It’s a lounge but there are more furniture than walking space. Plentiful seats, so little privacy! It’s like they encourage you to mingle but first, have a seat! Note I visited here when it was quiet. Saturday night and the financial district people are at home.

Probably one of my favorite, somewhat pretentious places to party when I’m with my group of friends… especially my Russian ones lol. What I love most about Pravda(«Truth» in Russian) is their Socialistic décor painted with infamous political figures from propaganda slogans, murels, to status and banners of famous Russian figures like Lenin and Stalin. In addition every Friday/Saturday the dj takes a moment at 10pm and 2am to commemmorate Pravda by playing the Russian National Anthem. lol which is pretty cool and its great if you know the lyrics haha. I’ve been here a handful of times, twice of which was for my bday, and its always nice to be able to experience their VODKA tasting in the Vodka walk-in cooler where thousands of various brands are on display near the bar area. The music is great, and at times it can be quite tough to move around.

Returned after four years for a friend’s birthday. This time it was ten o’clock on a Saturday night. It’s still a four star for me. The drinks and food are not cheap(as mentioned by most people here). I don’t like cocktails, but wasn’t in the mood for straight liqueur so I had 2 glasses of wine. Even with the cheapest option, it was about $ 30 for 2 glasses of red(tip and taxes included). Another pal and I shared the fries; for $ 9, we were able to eat chipotle mayo and feta cheese with 3, 4 potato wedges. The music was really good! There was a live DJ with live musicians playing with the beats. I also found the tunes to be a great mix including a lot of Top 40 stuff that anyone can dance to. At midnight, the Russian anthem was played; I’m not sure why, but I guess it’s to add to the Russian experience(?). Now to the best part — the people watching! What an eclectic crowd. The regulars to the out-of-town folk to the crew who had no idea how they ended up at Pravda; there was a good mix of people. I won’t be coming here every week, but for a birthday party or something equally big, I definitely don’t mind spending time here. Good for: drinks, dancing, going out

I came here for a pre-dinner drink. It was happy hour(4pm-7pm) when we were there. 5 different types of happy-hour martinis are only priced at $ 6.15 each. I like sweet and so I ordered the Chocolate Siberian Martini. It was a nice drink. The Russo-Canada Martini was also good with maple syrup. I love the gorgeous soviet-themed interior decoration. All servers dressed up in Soviet themed uniforms. There was also comfortable live music playing from upper level. Some people were laughing loud. They were definitely enjoying the after-work drink or possibly a bit drunk. However, the atmosphere was still very relaxing and enjoyable. We were given a complimentary vodka tasting. Our waitress told us some stories about the drink. That was entertaining:)
