I love this place. The owners are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I got a beautiful bag and a coconut shell bracelet today. I’m going back in the spring to get some bamboo blinds.

If you have ever been in any shop in Chinatown(even grocery stores), you’ll always have a bit of an «ick» feeling sometimes when you come across the dust, dirt and grime they seem to avoid cleaning. This shop, is the total opposite. Immaculate. There isn’t even any dust on any of the products, AMAZING. Everything is organized, neat, labeled, it looks like someone’s home with the cute little handwritten signs saying: Please don’t open! Please don’t touch! You break item, you buy item! Great place for bamboo and everything to do with bamboo. I also love the paper lanterns there, and if I had an apartment I’d totally decorate it with a bamboo or paper lantern umbrella. it’s just gorgeous. Love. LOVE. Love. Also, the prices are über cheap. $ 0.89 for a little bamboo spoon! Most places like Williams Sonoma would charge you $ 3 because it’s an «eco-friendly sexy product». Here, bamboo it is what it is – a cheap, renewable, green resource. I also like that they’re frugal and eco-friendly. They wrap whatever you buy in newspaper rather than give you a bag. Love.

Looking for some bamboo mats for my outdoor space, I remembered this store on Spadina. The owner and his wife were nice enough, helping us out and letting us know which options would suit our purposes. The best spot for bamboo or grass mats or baskets etc. They also have a variety of chopsticks, paper lanterns and knick knacks.

What a weird little shop. The widest selection of wicker and bamboo products I’ve ever seen. If you can think of it, they’ve made it out of bamboo. Coasters, place mats, table runners, rubbish bins, desk organizers, drawer organizers, furniture, bathroom accessories, fans, serving trays, picture frames, hats, lamps, animal figurines, bamboo, bamboo, bamboo. To be fair, there were a few stray non-bamboo items, like some ceramic salt and pepper shakers that look like a couple of bears hugging, but I’m sure you could find a bamboo nativity set here at Christmas time.
