Walked by and decided to stop in for a snack. Grabbed an almond croissant and it was very very good and super cheap. They had a wide variety of breads and baked goods… all looked great.

This place is old school and a hidden gem. I am not even close to being Portugese and I usually visit twice a week for bread and to see what the latest baked goods are. I don’t drink coffee but the espresso is popular, especially with the older gentlemen that hang out together, chatting and laughing at the back of the shop. The owner makes a variety of items throughout the week. I don’t know if there’s any kind of schedule to what she bakes(other than the specialty items for holidays) but I enjoy going in to see what’s on offer for the day. I bought an excellent, not too sweet apple pie for $ 5.49 and on another occasion, a delicious pound cake that was both airy and dense. It was still warm by the time I got it home. I agree that they might have the best Nata I’ve ever tried. Flaky, crispy crust, not chewy.

Excellent espresso with milk(galao) made with Delta Oro coffee from Portugal and prob the best nata in Toronto(and I’ve tried many). Great Portuguese buns as well. Check them out.

This place had the Pastel de Belem! I was so excited, I went back the next day. This is a mom/pops storefront and offers the most delicious looking pastries. We purchased 12 of the Pastel de Belem and a Cherry Turnover that melted in my mouth. I miss it already! Why are you so far away!
