I would have given Nancy’s Cheese a higher rating, however I do not get the best service when I go in there. Their is a small, but quality, cheese variety to choose from and it has always been delicious. I love cheese, however, I do not consider myself to be cheese connoisseur by any means. Next time I ask what cheese is good with a certain wine I don’t expect to get a judgmental tone or attitude, which tends to happen here. I simply use Nancy’s because the cheese is good and its location is convenient.

Came here and bought cheese and a couple of other items.(They sell a limited quantity of pickles, condiments, sauces, etc. as well as cheese.) The service here is great. The shop itself is small, but the cheese is easy to see and sample. The prices are a bit high, and the selection a bit limited. However, if you are looking for something more than grocery store cheese in this area, Nancy’s is a great bet.

I’m not too big on cheese especially the fancy kind. Give me a block of grocery store cheddar and I’m good. But, I pass by Nancy’s Cheese everyday and once in a while she has something very enticing from her window or the board outside the store. Cheese curds, smoked salmon, preserves… Today, quiche was beckoning me to go in. I got: — mushroom quiche — bacon quiche — baguette Nancy mentioned that they were from Thobors and so were the baguettes so I had to grab one of those too. For years I’ve been meaning to visit Thobors but it’s a bit out of the way — now I really have to go there cuz the quiche and baguette did not disappoint! So glad Nancy’s Cheese carry them. The shop is small but clean and organized. Nancy is friendly and knowledgeable. Not a huge selection of cheese, but she also carries other items that can complete a platter. 3.5 stars… But I’ll round it to 4.

I walk by Nancy’s Cheese on my way home from work almost every day, and it takes a ton of effort not to stop — though my willpower isn’t perfect. Nancy’s terrific, super knowledgeable about her cheese options and other goodies. I love the fact that she has an oft-changing, well curated selection — while I love stores with hundreds of different cheeses, I appreciate the effort and care Nancy puts into her selection — I’ve never been disappointed.

I could easily call this a 5 star place, but it’s got some limitations. 5 star features: — quality of product — staff(Nancy works the store herself often and she really knows her stuff, can recommend food and wine pairing and cheese combinations that work well together) Less than 5 star features: — somewhat limited selection, it’s a small place — prices are high(which is tolerable because the quality is so good, but a cheese plate for 4 people is going to run $ 40-$ 50 here)

I love the taste of everything here! Definitely has a nice vibe, Nancy is very nice and helpful with selection. I’ve only been once but I plan to go get some good cheese very soon if possible. I would recommend for cheese in the area.

Loved this! I ended up spending more than anticipated, but left with a planer from Norway — so cute, and a great way to eat cheese. Also took home some beamsville goat gouda yum(loved that portions had prices clearly marked), they also had a great selection of smoked salmon which was delicious(not too salty, and super fresh). I also left with some fabulous polenta crisps — yummy!

Nancy is amazing. She is an absolute pro when it comes to cheese. Some of my very favourite cheeses are carried in her shop, and I cannot get over the Zamarano. The vast array of gourmet items are a lovely addition, not to mention the sleek looking cheese boards. Quality, atmosphere, expertise and all around goodness makes Nancy’s one of the BEST cheese shops in the city!

My main destination on Dupont, and so conveniently close to an LCBO to pair my cheese with good company. After wondering for long time around town checking on all cheese shops, I selected this place as my weekly stop. Cheeses are nurtured, and clients as well. The small, but carefully selected cheese’s spectrum is actually a charm. The display case covers all I need to satisfy my truly demanding palate. The flavour, aroma, texture and freshness of every single cheese are exceptionally preserved, and that is how it should be. Cheese requires respect, Nancy’s and her staff provides that. The right place for people who like the real stuff, without the superfluous. This place leads the way, all the others are just following. Every single cheese lover I know just prefers to shop here, and I understand why. I know what I like, and In my straightforward opinion I find Nancy’s Cheese the best shop in Toronto, by far.

Was walking by the place, and thought I would step in. A sign of a good cheese place is the inundating smell as you step in. Phew! Lots of selection, but not too huge that you were overwhelmed. Each was clearly labelled for which find of milk(Goat, Sheep, Cow…) She let me try some before buying, which is good and helped me figure out cost and amount of cheese I wanted to buy. She was really helpful and understanding that I didn’t want to spend $ 15 on a slice of cheese, but liking two types, half and half was good. The goat cheese slice was $ 3. While half the slice of the sheeps milk was $ 7. Yum… They also sell preserves, crisps and other go with cheese goodness. Great neighbourhood place, and I will come back!
