I would give 0⁄5 if that was possible. Moss Park should be called«Murder Park». The gateway to hell starts at the sketchy intersection of Queen and Jarvis where the Moss Park Armoury is to spine-chilling Queen and Sherbourne. This is where all the panhandling bums, crack heads, and drunks come out under the shadows to pry on you. Moss Park is not a place for Mister Rogers to have his neighbourhood stroll or to walk your baby carriage during a Sunday afternoon. With a drug-driven area, these people are homeless, perpetually addicted to narcotics and have missing body parts. It doesn’t get any dismal, ghetto or deserted than Moss Park. If you want to play tennis or play ice hockey, go anywhere in this city BUT here. The«snow pile» outside the Moss Park arena is rather suspicious and goodness knows if that’s even snow or bath salts for those freaks who need to get their next high. It’s not even safe going with someone during the day, so use your common sense and do not go alone or at night. Gritty and frightening Moss(Murder) Park must be avoided at all cost, unless you want to walk your life on the tightrope.

This park is sketchy? Huh, who knew. I stayed in TO for a month once. I brought my trusty snowboard and borrowed a shovel and built little kickers and ollied brances and stuff. It was not a great place to ride, obviously, but snow must be slid on, so there I was. Rock on…

I used to work in this sketchy area, walking back home every night for two years in the scary darkness, no less. I’m surprised I lasted for so long. Needless to say, I have some pretty special memories of men following me and begging for free physical love(albeit using much more harsh language). It’s definitely cleaned up, but the area still carries a lot of issues on its back, and the park, located right at the epicentre on Queen and Sherbourne, is a reflection of that. There’s a lot of loitering in this park, especially in the summer. I’ve also seen a fight break out here in the middle of a pleasant Sunday afternoon, too, so it’s definitely not a place you’d take a new partner out for a romantic stroll. The salt-of-the-earth part of me likes the surrounding neighbourhood. It still hasn’t hit it big with the gentrification masses, so the stores and non-profit organizations remain full of character. However, the condo sale sign at the corner of Queen and Sherbourne puts me slightly on edge, and I wonder if, like similar developments, it will come in, make some changes, and push everyone off to some undetermined address away from what they know. I don’t know what can be done with this park or this area to make it more pleasing, but I definitely know it can’t be done in the confines of this Unilocal review. City planners? Anyone? Until then, I’m walking across the street and never looking anyone in the eye.
