I just joined this club this year, and it absolutely made my summer. I never knew how to sail before, and I was able to do the beginers lessons with the clubs membership. They have their own sailboats that you can take out anytime as well as two catamarans! Everyone is friendly there, and everyone loves to have fun. It feels like your cottage away from the city, and being out on the water is just amazing!

I’ve been a member for two years now and it’s been one of the best experiences I’ve had in Toronto. The volunteer leaders do a wonderful job of organizing everything, and welcoming new members. The training program is top notch, and from someone who used to live on boats as a child, and who hadn’t sailed since I was very young, they made it very comfortable for all levels to learn to sail. All the social events, parties and Wednesday meals are wonderful. Highly recommend to anyone looking to learn how to sail, who already sails, or those who just enjoy fun, casual, people and spending time at «your cottage in the city!»

Mooredale Sailing Club is a community sailing club by Cherry Beach, Toronto. The club has a unique learn to sail program that combines the professionalism of certified instructors and the coaching from our experienced members. Most of the members have joined the club without any prior sailing experience. Mooredale Sailing Club is a unique place: strong from a 40-year of experience, the club has build up a fleet of close to 30 club owned sailboats that are freely accessible to all the members(2012 membership is $ 599 for new members, $ 449 for returning members and $ 399 only for full time students). Beginner sailing lessons are included in the membership fee. Mooredale Sailing Club offers sailing lessons in Toronto for beginners and also advanced sailing lessons and an extensive learn to race program in a very friendly atmosphere. Dinghy sailing is a fantastic sport, that is accessible to all, just a few minutes from downtown Toronto. Strategy, tactics, physical exercise, human experience: sailing is a great adventure! I personally joined Mooredale Sailing Club 5 years ago, and learned sailing at the club with very experienced sailors and passionate racers. Mooredale Sailing Club is a unique place. We participate in the largest one design(meaning everybody sail the same type of boats) race series in North America. check out the website: and pictures of the 2012 Mooredale Regatta: to get a feel of what sail boat racing looks like when the wind picks up and the Albacore sailboats surf the waves of the Lake Ontario.
