McDowell’s Valu Mart

I have only been to one Valu-​Mart before, but I’m not sure why they have the «valu» part of the name. It indicates that it is a No Frills-​esque kind of affair, while the reality, at least of this location, could not be farther from the truth.
It is not cheap — it is in Leaside, after all. So, pricey is a must. I do love their kitchen area where you can get pre-​made foods. Tends to be a lot of fried foods, but they also get pastas and different foods every once in a while. And they got a great salad and pastries section.
Otherwise, it’s very nice. Well organised, clean, and never too crowded. Considering how expensive the produce is, the kitchen/​salads and pastries are really cheap. I eat here ever day, since I work nearby, and I’m yet to get disappointed!
