It’s just another McDonald’s, but this one is part of Gerrard Square. There’s no drive through at this McDonald’s, for those looking for one. I also don’t think it’s 24 hours. Service can slow down at this location because a lot of the customers can’t speak English. There are also usually people just hanging out all the time. There are lots of retirees who just buy a coffee and sit all day. Both inside and on the patio. It can be tough to get a seat. 3 Stars is generous. The experience is hurt by all the people loitering. But there’s only so much they can do about that. Otherwise, the food is the same as at any other McDonald’s.

People who are familiar with the area will know that the patrons are… a little different… some of them leave garbage everywhere, as they are walking through the restaurant… some would buy a coffee and just sit there for hours… some do the same without buying anything… well, this review is not about them, but one staff in particular. I had lunch there, but hung around for over two hours while waiting for my wife. I notice this girl who, no matter what kind of client, even the«bad» ones that falls in any of the above categories, she would clean up after them, greet them with the biggest smile and genuinely friendly greetings. She would occasionally check on patrons to see how they are doing while continuing to be a busy bee. As I had to rush out to pickup my wife, I told her, «every McDonald’s should have someone like you.» I think I embarrassed her as she said, «oh, thank you, I’m trying to be nice to everyone. Have a good day!» Yes, every McDonald’s…make it every fast food restaurant should have someone like her.

Yup. It’s still a Mickey Dee’s. This one has a lot of tables filled with local retirees, chatting and having coffee. Probably not a profitable proposition but I don’t think they care. What I like best about McDonald’s is that you’re guaranteed pretty much the same experience everywhere.

What do you want, it’s a McDonalds. It is near my house, my kid can eat and play here for a reasonable price. There are some reasonably healthy options here. Is it great food? No. But you probably already know how you feel about McDonalds anyway. This one is like that. It’s smaller and nicer looking than many McD’s, and trying to get parking nearby in Gerrard square is not always fun.

this review has nothing to do with the food. no one whose anyone…(i dont even know what the hell that expression even means, sorry). everyone has eaten at the most well known restaurant in the world and we all have our favourites. this review is about a brand new mcdonalds at gerrard square that seems to be jumping on board the décor philosophy of other mid scale family restaurants like milestones, the pickle barrel,(i cant think of any more). when was the last time you walked into a mcdonalds that had a fireplace? tis true. or how about this, when was the last time you walked into a mcdonalds that had bamboo poles as dividers between seat sections? (where the hell am i?) finally, as you pack down your classic big mac or the new mcsomething on the block(have you ever tried a mclobster? go to nova scotia…) you can watch the news on the flat screen television thats attached to the wall. well i say that it does nothing but make the place look nicer so hey, why not.
