I love this place. The food is unique and flavourful, and the service is impeccable! Marianne really takes pride in her recipe and her food, and truly cares for her customers.

I first heard about Marianne’s through my coworkers a couple weeks ago. They told me about the Love Plate and it looked really good. They told me it tasted amazing as well, so I had to try it myself. Marianne’s is located just outside Mount Sinai(toward Princess Margaret). I ordered a Love Plate with ½ jerk chicken sausage, ½ elk sausage, ½ white potato, quinoa salad and it was topped with sauteed onions and sour cream($ 9). You can opt for ½ sausage with quinoa or full sausage without quinoa for $ 7. Although it was slightly burnt, the jerk chicken was very tasty. I wanted to try her wild boar sausage too, but she only had elk and bison. I don’t think I’ll be ordering elk again because it was very lean and a bit gamy. I figured there would be parsley and celery in the quinoa salad and I’m not a fan of either, but the coconut dressing is very good. I would give Marianne’s another try since it’s so close to my workplace and it’ll be nice to try other game sausages.

Marianne is hands down the best street vendor in the city. I just finished a two year stint of working in Mount Sinai hospital, and despite eating there an average of probably three or four times a week, the selection never got tired. While it’s easy to dismiss as just another street meat cart, Marianne is constantly updating her menu and trying out new items to make the menu as diverse as possible. Obviously there is a selection of hot dogs and sausages, then add wild meats, pulled pork, ribs, savory muffins, potatoes, soups, grilled peaches, etc. etc. All of which are delicious. Trust me. I’ve tried everything. In terms of price, I’ve had someone mention«You know the one up the street is cheaper right?» To which I responded, «Yeah.» Marianne’s is definitely worth the extra dollar or whatever slight difference it might be. Plus when Barbarian upped the cost of their meats, Marianne still offered good value by creating the Love Plate(consisting of a wild meat and jerk chicken with a baked potato for $ 6 or so) All around really amazing innovative stuff. Then the most important point of all — Marianne herself. She is possibly one of the nicest people I’ve met in the city who has a natural sense of warmth and familiarity the second that you meet her. Every transaction is very personal, and it’s wonderful to see how she interacts with such a wide array of people be they doctors or patients or construction workers, homeless, children finishing school, Marianne constantly has good rapport with everyone. In a core area of the big city, I find it amazing how someone could create such a small town neighborhood feel — A la Mr. Rogers. Marianne is a huge proponent of community which you can see with her Peace Together Forever movement as well as her heavy involvement in the Street Food Vendors Association. All around amazing lady. Also should mention that everyone else she’s brought on to work the stand are also extremely friendly and seem to cater the same attitude. Apologies if you bothered to read this whole thing and found it rambly, but I’m soon to be leaving the city, and I wanted to shed some light on one of my favorite spots, I’m definitely gonna miss it!

Marianne’s is THEBEST place to get hotdogs /street meat in the city! Located right in front of Mount Sinai Hospital, this vendor’s been here for years and is really an institution here on Hospital Row. And in the last couple of years, Marianne’s expanded to feature a wider range of food — it’s not just hotdogs, people! She offers baked potato and sweet potato, which you can order on their own OR for those who eat gluten-free: the potato is a GREAT option to swap in place of a bun. You can have any of the meats topping a potato! Marianne’s is also in partnership with another Toronto institution, The Barberians Steakhouse, has produced sandwiches that use their spices and meats. Such as roast beef, pulled pork, and soups when in season! Featuring affordable wild game meats like: Bison, Elk, and Wild Boar. These are very tasty and perfect for those who want a little bit more sophistication. All these meats come from local Ontario farms! It’s no wonder she’s been featured in publications like The Toronto Star and Edible Toronto Magazine! If you get to meet Marianne herself — you’ll find that she is the sweetest person and so, so, so passionate about what she does. She knows the people who live and work in the area. She advocates on behalf of food vendors like herself and is actively involved in working towards better policies in the city. Read more about her philosophy at

Here’s the hilarious thing — I used to walk by here ALLTHETIME, but never always assumed that it was just a regular hot dog stand. It was until recently that I realized that this hot dog stand was selling something different: ELK and SWEETPOTATOES. What?! This definitely deserved a better look. So obviously, I searched for this online. I found out that this little place was called«Marianne’s Snack Shack» — serving delicious gamey meat. Rumour has it that her baked sweet potatoes are absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, I wasn’t in the mood for sweet potato or game meat. However, I had myself a delicious pulled pork sandwich for $ 6. Not only this, Marianne is the sweetest lady ever. It was her birthday that day too! What a great way to first try out Marianne’s Snack Shack.

Marianne Moroney is providing Toronto with a much needed service in the form of an awesome food cart. We have hotdog stands all over the place, but at this stand you can get game meat sausages supplied by Barberians restaurant(yes, that Barberians). She also does a soup everyday and serves them in cups making them an excellent street food. Her most popular item(that I actually didn’t try because I had the wild boar sausage) is apparently the baked sweet potato. I would recommend trying the sausages just because of the novelty of the game meat, but they actually do taste very good. The wild boar sausage had a cherry glaze on it as well as horseradish sauce which was such a great combination of flavours. Probably the best hotdog Ive ever had. She has also recently started offering ribs from Barberians and honestly, eating ribs from a food stand is one of the coolest feelings ever. Marianne herself is very enthusiastic about her product and her excitement is contagious. She’s a ardent activist for street food in Toronto and I totally agree with her.
