Luminous Weddings

My husband and I were blown away by Ryan and the team at Luminous Weddings. Ryan shot our engagement photos and even before seeing the photos, we knew we wanted him do our wedding. He was so easy to work with — very responsive and provided a lot of creative suggestions. On the day of our engagement shoot, he spent the whole afternoon with us and waited for the sun to set to get our shot with sparklers. In between shots he asked us questions and really tried to get to know us. We loved our engagement photos and we’re excited to have him as our photographer at our wedding (side note: our engagement shoot was featured on a blog). Fast forward to our wedding — we couldn’t have asked for a more dedicated team! It was one of the wettest days of the year but Ryan and his second shooter did not let that stop them from getting the best shots. They were in and out of the rain, braving the elements to ensure that we had our special moments captured. We have this amazing rainy day photo that everyone is in awe of — you’ll have to check out his website to see it! Aside from taking amazing photos, we really felt comfortable with Ryan and trusted that he would capture our day beautifully. We now have the task of going through a ton of amazing shots — my «best ofs» album has over 600 photos! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ryan to my friends and family and have in fact already done so! Best of luck planning your wedding!

The best in Toronto, for sure! In an industry where most vendors drop the customer service act as soon as they get your money, Ryan is the complete opposite. My husband and I are not the most comfortable with being photographed, but Ryan put us at ease. He did our engagement photos, which all turned out amazing! He was super fast with the turnover of our wedding photos as well. It’s only been 3 weeks, and he’s already posted them to Drop Box for us. I will be recommending him to all my friends who get married in the future. If you don’t book him for your wedding, you are nuts!

We were introduced to Ryan, of Luminous Studios, by our wedding planner. He took our engagement and wedding photos. He planned out locations and poses which made things very easy for us and it allowed us to be very comfortable for our shoot, resulting in stunning, story telling photos. He had the photos processed extremely quickly onto his website and cd’s for us and even hand delivered them to our house. We couldn’t have been happier with the shots and are proud to display them around our house. The whole process with Ryan was pain free and it definitely was a pleasurable experience. He even took the time to put together a photo album, even though we didn’t ask him too. We were trying to do it ourselves, but his was amazing and we bought it from him.
When it came time to have the first pictures of our new baby taken, without hesitation, we called Ryan. He was so good with us, nervous new parents, and so prepared to deal with a 2 week old baby in a photo shoot. He had his studio ready with heaters and blankets and chairs. It was such a fun day and the pictures again, we’re stunning and captivating. Again the photos were processed quickly and delivered to our house.
A first class service all the way, with great results. We recommend Ryan when ever we get a chance.

I met Ryan at a bridal show and was really drawn to his photographs. They seemed candid and honest, not so staged like other wedding photographers. I also liked that he offered unique services from other wedding photographers such as creating resin art works from photos. He met with my then fiancé, now husband and I, and we chose a package that suited our needs. Ryan is extremely personable and we got to get more comfortable with him while shooting our engagement shoot. The photos turned out great and we got a sample of what our wedding photos would be like.
On our wedding day, Ryan was punctual, laid back but also professional. He helped bring order to our bridal party and getting shots set up with a large group. We got a great mix of formal, casual and candid photos of the day as well as indoor and outdoor shots. At times, I didn’t even know that Ryan was around because he was so unobtrusive, and I think that’s what leads to great wedding photography.
I’d highly recommend Luminous Studio because the whole journey with Ryan has been great! He always returned our emails and phone calls promptly, gave us his advice and made sure we were happy with small details — like making sure we liked the guestbook cover leather before placing a final order. I feel like whenever I look back at our wedding photos, I’ll remember all the wonderful moments that were captured and the joy of such a special day.
