Like with trying something new, there’s always some form of anxiety in the air. Going into Lola, Jay was so welcoming and friendly, I instantly felt at ease. I went in clueless as to how I want my hair cut and styled, Jay just lead me onto the right path. Simple and classic, I am truly loving my haircut. Thank you, Jay! :)

Love this place! I had been meaning to visit and after a bad week I needed a blow out. They over delivered, my hair is stunning thanks to them. Really nice staff, and beautiful space. I will be back!

Jay has been cutting my hair since we both had chipmunk cheeks. I even used to go to NY every six months to have him sort me out when he was a stylist there in Union Square. What I love about his work is that it grows in so well — which is what great hair cuts do. He’s not into the big, fancy blow outs (although he will do those if asked, and I’ve seen him train more than one stylist in the art of the blow), he wants to see the cut because to him it is a science. Like craft beer or tongue and groove furniture. I’ve also seen him work miracles on my girlfriends (most of whom have become long time clients as well) and my son. He can take the worst Top Cuts hack job and make it look funky. The man is a freaking genius with scissors — like Edward Scissorhands… sans murder.

Great salon, staff and prices. Everyone is easy-​going and friendly and the space is bright and airy.
I get my hair cut with Jay and have had my colour done by both Holly and Francis (both are fantastic). I frequently get compliments on my hair and people want to know where I get it done.
Highly recommended.

This salon is great. Every time I go to this salon I feel fully relaxed and I’m always welcomed with a friendly face. Francis is amazing! I’ve followed him from several salons in the downtown core and wouldn’t go to anyone else. He fixed my hair from a horrible box dye job and I’ve never looked back. He’s very talented and I trust him completely. He always makes my hair look amazing! I’ve also seen him teach others in the salon and he’s so nice. I also had Erika for a haircut recently and she was great. She really listened to what I wanted and she was great to chat to! I’ll definitely be back:)

Just got my hair cut with Jay today and loved it! He makes you feel comfortable, really knows what looks good on you and takes the time to consult with you. The salon is also a great new place! Very clean and everything smells amazing!

When I found out that Jay had opened his own salon, I knew I’d be following him to his spot on Ossington. Jay’s been cutting my hair for about 5 years and we seem to understand each other. He is a fine stylist, great conversationalist and he’s also mastered the art of gentle persuasion — his recommendations are never wrong.
LOLA is friendly, relaxed and an altogether lovely place to get a new ‘do. Jay and Francis (who brought the light back to my locks) are delightful guys who help people look good, it’s as simple as that. Oh, and as an added bonus, they sell Davines shampoo, which is just about the best smelling stuff I’ve ever put in my hair. Highly recommend.

This is an awesome hair salon! Jay has been my hair stylist for several years now and when I heard that he opened his own salon, I had to check it out.
Service was amazing. I got a great cut as well got my hair lights touched up. Quick, clean and fabulous service.
Their online booking system is pretty easy to use too. I love the reminders prior to your appointment.
I would highly recommend this salon to get your hair on. :)

Following Janice here from another salon was a no brainer, she is amazing at all things colour and specifically colour corrections. She made my hair look amazing throughout the difficult correction process every step of the way. Have never been happier with a hair stylist and would 100% recommend her, as well as this salon.

Modern, charming salon with fantastic stylists. Jay is amazing– he instantly puts you at ease, listens but also shares great ideas, moves quickly without rushing, and makes you look great. Following him to LOLA from Parlour was a no-​brainer. I had my hair coloured recently by Francis and am super impressed he was able to translate my «make my boring brown winter hair less dull» request into something glossy with lots of depth and dimension. Melissa gave me a great lesson in building volume. She’s the best. Great space, friendly people, online booking is a breeze, and I LOVE the Italian Davines products they use. Very impressed.

A salon isn’t the type of place I would usually review but I was very impressed with this place when I sat down there a few days ago. These guys have got the customer experience down to an art form. Incredibly hip without being pretentious. They also make me look good, of course (I can’t remember the last time I had this many compliments on my hair.)
I’ve had a love/​hate relationship with salons and stylists for a long long time. I think it’s time to settle down …

Jay is awesome! I’ve been going to him for cuts for years. LOLA Salon is a nice new addition to the Ossington strip, and I’d highly recommend getting your cut there. The staff at LOLA is friendly, the space is cool, and the services are very professional.

Awesome Salon! Recently got a cut by Jay — he is such a talented stylist. I’ve been going to him for a few years now and followed him to his new salon — LOLA! I’m happy everytime I walk out and get compliments for weeks afterwards. Lola is a great place — clean, modern, and sleek. I will be a return customer! Thanks Jay!
