Planning wedding can be very stressful and John made it extra stressful for us.
When I met up with him, he was very nice to me and my fiancé. Made us felt like he will take our wedding personal and be there for us through our wedding.
But reality, after we signed contract with him. It was impossible to get hold of him.
When we finally made appointment to take our engagement photo session which was 2 months before our wedding day. Without any notice, he went missing. We e-​mailed him and called him many times but we couldn’t find him. We had to cancel our appointment with make up artist and videographer for our engagement session.
I was under huge stress because of this I couldn’t even sleep my wedding was only a month away. When we e-​mailed him again, we got automated messages saying he is out of the office due to family emergency and will be back in 2 weeks.
We got really mad. How hard to e-​mail or give us a call and cancel the engagement session? I understand he had family emergency but this is very unprofessional.
After 2 weeks, we knew he was back in town but we didn’t hear back from him no call, no email. We waited a week to give him some time to contact us but he didn’t. I had to make an appointment to speak with him ON THE PHONE… he apologized and promised us that he will be there for our wedding.
I was mad at him but I felt bad for his situation. So I gave him one more chance.
We took engagement shoot 2 weeks before the wedding day and he showed up at our wedding.
After I saw my wedding photos I was disappointed. It wasn’t bad but. it doesn’t worth what we paid for. On our wedding day he rushed us to take photos, when we had lots of time. He send us a photo with one of usher closed his eyes… wow. very professional. not only that but he said he took enough photos of us and had 4 hours break. I don’t mind if he got all the details of our wedding venue but. he didn’t.
His pictures feels like work nothing personal about it. he gave me some freebies (upgrade our engagement session and engagement sign book)
But it truly not worth the trouble what we went through. EVEN NOW I still didn’t receive some of our engagement photos and I can’t reach him.
I really don’t want to think about this and deal with him anymore but I want my photos!
Please ladies I really don’t want to see anyone go through what I went through.

some people don’t like planning, then there’s me. i did a ton of research before booking any vendor for our wedding. john’s style of photography was different from all the others i was coming across. i loved his use of light and colours. he can go from soft to hard, yet always beautiful. he can take great shots of details, and great shots of people.
i then started reading his blog, and i knew we would get along. i thought he was funny and smart and professional. my husband and i need to feel comfortable with a photographer in order to «pose», so this was important. we decided to meet up, and after a few minutes it was a done deal. he was real and accommodating.
we ended up with an amazing mix of structured and candid images of our engagement and wedding. our friends and family always rave about them, but more importantly, we rave about him.
if these are the things you’re looking for, he’s your man.

I had made a huge list of photographers & John was one of the few I had decided to speak with. I am a big fan of documenting/​quality photos and knew from the beginning where a good portion of the budget would be spent on. I love his approach and photojournalistic style as it captures the essence of the moment. His photos are slightly touched up while retaining its natural demeanor and not photoshopped to the extreme. What I also love is his consistency & attention to detail… this is huge for me. It’s possible to take a beautiful photo here & there but can you do it with every shot? what about everything in between?
When we met with John he was extremely professional, genuine & personable. I knew right away he would be our photog & that if we hired him he would need very little direction & we’d be stress-​free (ok maybe just me lol)! John was probably very taken back when he asked if there are any questions and I asked when can we sign the contract? :) He was also very efficient with communication (email). Another plus! Looking forward to next year!
