Don’t go here if you aren’t Asian. The owner and stylists are racist. They may seem kind and welcoming on the phone but as soon as you walk into the salon, they turn you away for not being Asian. Pathetic.

Reviewers before me has already described Jin perfectly. Friendly, professional, and efficient.
Was also gonna leave a korean comment but it looks like Unilocal doesn’t allow Korean text. (Lacists!) Jin is fluent in both Korean and English so don’t worry YOO HAK SENG no problem.

It’s first time I visited Jin’s Salon. She’s very friendly and very efficient cutting, with nice outcome. But how well she cut really depends on her mood, I didn’t have a consistent nice outcome at the second time. It is not same length of my left and right side hair. I am a little disappointed about it.

I have been coming here for the last couple of years and have been very happy with the service and friendly owner. Jin had an instant understanding of how my head was shaped and how my hair behaves, I’ve been so comfortable with her that I don’t even need to tell her how I want my hair cut. How many people can you honestly say you trust with your hair? Jin has always been able to accommodate me on her busiest days and is fast and efficient with her service. I’m always happy when I leave. The parking in back is usually available to accommodate a quick stop. Jin is especially good at Asian hair types but she’s very good at creating any style and handling many different types of hair.

This place is honestly horrible. Despite very clear instructions as to how I wanted my hair cut, she did not follow it at all, with one side longer than the other. I had also asked her to make the front longer than the back and sides, and she did the exact opposite with the back longer than the front. I went back the next day to get it fixed, and while there was nothing that could be done about the short front, I was able to get her to make it slightly more symmetric between the sides. To her credit she did not charge me for trying to fix it.
Fast forward two months, I decided to give her another chance because I thought she now knew what my complaints were the first time. Despite going over how I wanted my hair cut, she does a horrible job again, with the hair on the front much shorter than the back, and different hair lengths on the left and right.
I will not be going there again.

I came here without a previous appointment, but I was welcomed in on a Saturday afternoon. The prices are reasonable. I paid $ 30 for wash and styling for my long hair. The whole process was quick and hassle free. Jina is honest about what can and cannot be done with certain hair types, so disappointments will be kept to a minimum. Unlike many other hair salons I’ve gone to before, I was not coerced to buy any particular products for my hair. They only take debit and cash.

A few years ago I visited Jin Hair for the first time and asked Jina to give me a hairstyle that she thinks suits my look. The result was awesome and since then Jin Hair has become my go-​to salon. Jina is extremely friendly and a master at what she does.
Now because of work I no longer live in Toronto. I’ve yet to find a salon in San Francisco/​New York that I enjoy visiting as much as Jin Hair.
