Not worth going there anymore!!! First of all, their senior stylist Lynne is no longer with the company, and none of the other stylists are up to her level. Second of all, it’s so expensive and you have nothing to show for it. Why is it $ 100 for a simple wash and wear? Thirdly, the products are not only greasy as hell but they are expensive! Save your money and don’t waste your time going there! If you are trying to track her down feel free to send me a message!!!

I used to go to Jazma for years. My first few appointments my hair didn’t come out that great, but I followed the advice of the owner, Asha, and the stylists there and after about a year, I had the hair I always wanted. Except, I had to use the products sold at the salon to keep it. I eventually got tired of having to go back to Jazma every three to four months, spend a couple hundred dollars and leave with wet, greasy hair. Honestly. Even though I wasn’t getting a perm, I still on that creamy crack. Since ending my relationship with Jazma, I’ve chopped all my hair off. My hair is 100% natural, minus the bit of colour on the ends. And I’m completely in love with it. I now have a tapered afro and am amazed at the teeny tiny curls all over my head. I’m more amazed that they’re growing straight out of my scalp, and at how fast they’re growing. I still go to a salon to get my hair shaped and treated, but because I want to — not because I have to. As for Jazma, the service there was great for the years I went. Yes, I heard all about the rumours, but never once in my experience at the salon did I ever see or hear anything unsavoury. People there were more or less polite, and they always remembered me/my name. My only reason for giving the salon three stars is because with all the education they provide on hair, they don’t seem to know how to deal with hair that is completely natural without applying some type of chemical to it. Also, services are kind of expensive.

My daughter and I have been going to Jazma for 14 years, and we are really happy. Our hair is so healthy, and well styled-everyone admires our hair. We have friends and relatives who have been Jazma clients for even longer, and they are also well pleased. I would never go anywhere else. I love Asha, Lynn and Zak. I usually see Lynn, and my daughter sees Zak. They really understand our hair texture, which I jokingly say is a mix of all of my ancestors, black and white, all on the same head. Their prices are not cheap, but they are pretty reasonable, but to tell the truth, when it comes to hair care, I am not going to nickel and dime it. They are worth every penny.

I went to Jazma Hair Salon with my natural hair fro. Because of the texture of my hair, I knew what I wanted going in. I told the stylist that I didn’t want any chemicals in my hair. She insisted that I watch the introductory video about Jazma’s way of hair care. First of all, the information in the video is so outdated. After watching the video, the stylist asked me which of the many styles(about 3) shown in the video I’d like to get. I informed her that none of the women featured in the video had hair remotely close to the type of hair I have. I told her, therefore, that I don’t want any of the products featured in the video because I want my hair chemical-free and the products seemed to be ideal for coarse(very thick hair types. As a stylist she should know that not all women have the same hair in terms of natural texture, length, etc. She insisted that one of the products was ideal for my hair and that unlike other products, it wouldn’t damage my hair. She basically talked me into getting products that weren’t ideal for my hair. My hair is now severely damaged that I cannot even wear it out. My hair sheds like I’ve never seen before. I may have to resort to cutting off the damaged chemically treated hair and keeping my growth. Basically start from scratch. THISSALONIS A RIPOFF! Save your money, save your hair, and go to a salon that will cater to your specific hair needs. The services are so overly priced. It cost me approximately 240 dollars for color, texturizer, and shampoo. Yes, a charge for shampoo. I was appalled that this was an additional charge. Because, if you’re coloring and texturizing my hair, you’re gonna shampoo it anyways, correct? Sigh.
