Be very careful of the clientele you meet here. The staff will not help you if a situation arises. There were only two cashiers open and I was waiting in line with my SO and a guy walked up and put his carry basket on the ground next to us. We just assumed he put it there because it was heavy and it was crowded in there. He then proceeded to open a Yop that he hadn’t paid for and consume it. Another cashier opened up her till and asked us to come over but then she saw the man standing next to us and asked if he was in line first. Of course this creepy guy says«Yes I was here first.» and proceeds to walk over to her line. Nobody around cared to correct him, not even the staff working the cash in the lane we were in even though we had been waiting there over five minutes before this guy arrived. I stated this fact and this man walked up to me looking like he wanted to hit me and said«Are you calling me a liar? You look like crap, I can’t believe you got a date.» Right because I dress up to go to Freshco and we go there on dates all the time. *rolls eyes* This guy was beyond stupid or a meth head or both. To make matters worse the cashier was rude to me and completely missed the huge $ 1 off sticker on one of the products and I had to go to another cash to get the rebate. So if you can put up with the scary people here and rude staff to save a couple dollars go ahead but do watch your back.

I usually buy my groceries at loblaws or no frills simply due to the prices and promotions they have going on most weeks. I do however try other grocery stores such as superstore and of course what I am reviewing today in FreshCo. One thing FreshCo always has going for it is fresh fruits and vegetables. They also have a decent selection of asian vegetables you can’t typically get at no frills or loblaws. The fruit stands are nicely displayed and their quality of fruits are some of the best. The one downside however is that the prices are slightly higher than other grocery stores around town. The staff are friendly and polite and will point you towards the aisles you will need to go, to find that special promotional item you need in the flyer. They also do price matching here, which helps you stick to your budget without traveling to multiple other grocery stores. Overall a nice store and if there prices were slightly lower I would be here far more often!

Great affordable grocery store in a really bad mall. This is not where to go for ingredients for your fancy dinner party but it is where to go to get your staples and receive great service

I ran in today to grab some milk. I spotted some Western cream cheese on the shelf as I walked towards the cash and thought maybe I’d pick some up for lunch. I could see some plain kind hiding behind the onion flavoured one. As I reached behind to grab one of the plain containers I noticed that the two containers at the very front were obscuring the others. Out of curiosity I quickly checked the best before date on them and lo and behold they were the SAME containers I saw back in June. Over 2 months expired — best before June 4th or 5th or whatever it was. What’s worse? They were purposefully placed in front of numerous other cream cheese containers(which were best before tomorrow might I add) so that an unsuspecting customer might actually buy them. Honestly? Really? I mean come on! Who’s running this place? Don’t they think someone might get sick eating cream cheese that’s two months passed their best before date?!

So this place is a step down from No Frills. Less selection, not as clean and way more cramped in the aisles. I found the entire shopping experience pretty unpleasant, except the cashier was quite friendly. Things were cheaper than at No Frills, for the most part. Don’t think I’ll be rushing back here any time soon.

I was a little concerned when I arrived when I moved into the area and this place was in a bit of a shambles due to the changover into a FreshCO from a PriceChopper. The renovation was very well done and I have not been disapointed with the quality of most of the store. The produce can be hit and miss but no more than a comparable Metro. The Ethnic food section is varied and cheap! Overall I’m a big fan. Beats the Metro at Yonge and Eg any day of the week.

You know what they say about identical twins: they may look the same one the surface, but they’ve got different characters! Same with the FreshCo’s popping up all over the city. They all look the same: apple green motif and well identified sections including different ethnic sections but no deli. This new FreshCo which replaced the sad Price Chopper, has a distinctly Portuguese feel since most of the staff speaks that language. It’s got very cheap prices and the quality of the produce has so far been good. The floors are still shiny and you can still see your face reflected on them. I dread the day when the floors lose their luster and the produce starts to wilt!
