Flowers and More

I don't know if the person who was there owns the store or just works there, but he yelled and used vulgar language at us, we were worried about our safety as we left; this is why I'm not putting my name on this review. We have been to other stores nearby and further away that sells similar British goods, and we have always had great experiences and conversations with their staff. No matter how much anyone may want to buy a niche product, no one should be treated this way.

I was so excited to see that there was a store that sold grocery items from the UK. Seeing as it was a little out of my way I decided to call to find out if they had a product in stock. The phone was answered without a hello or anything and when I asked if I had reached the correct place he said yes. I proceeded to inquire about the product and he just said «no» and hung up the phone. I will for sure not be going to this store!

I was able to learn a few things, before being shooed out of this place — as their open sign was lit up, and doors unlocked, even though they were closed. They have a lot of candy (but not the delicious British Smarties, that still taste good) and they have neat drinks — like fruit squashes, but no IronBru (sigh). Most importantly though, they have ploughman’s relish. Seriously — I’ve looked all over for this stuff.
And now I know where it lives.

I live out of town and ordered flowers over the phone for Mother’s Day. They did a great job! Thank You!

Pretty good flower boutique! I buy flowers for myself here often. They offer a great selection of gorgeous flowers as well as imported foods from the UK, soaps, and candles. Lovely shop!
Today I used their online service to deliver flowers to a family member as a birthday gift. A couple hours after ordering online, I walked to the shop (I live in the area) and asked if the flowers had been delivered yet. The owner had no idea that I had even put an order in. She asked me when they needed to be delivered by and I mentioned 5PM the same day. When she asked where and I said downtown, she said that she probably wouldn’t have normally delivered to there. She also didn’t have a few of the flowers that were in the bouquet that I had ordered online. I wasn’t very impressed by the lack of organization. I came back and hour later and the bouquet was complete and it looked very beautiful. She even included a few roses because she said that she remembered that I love them (I do!). She told me that next time I want flowers delivered, to come and see them instead of using the online service. I would not use the online service again because it seems they do not use it all that often which I assume based on the fact that they were pretty surprised that they had an online order. If they improved their online service, I would probably buy from them more often out of convenience but I will certainly continue to shop here for myself and others when I am able to find the time to stop by.
OH and pretty decent prices for a small business! Support local businesses!

Get all of my flowers from here… They have a great selection and a florist with an artistic eye (Please see photos). They have bouquets at the ready as well as arrangements which is great for the last minute buy. I also find that the flowers I buy from this shop last me a lot longer than say the local grocery store or the wholesale place that needs a membership (i don’t know if i’m allowed to use names… so i won’t) The wrapping is also a lot prettier than the regular retailers. It also helps that they sell two of my favorite sweets (Fruit pastilles in blackcurrant and British wine gums… and YES THEY TASTE TOTALLY DIFFERENT!!! if you don’t believe me, go buy some!!!)
