This used to be my go-to store in Chinatown but it’s closed now :’((very sad. My advice– BECAREFULWHENPICKINGCOMPUTERSTORESINTHISAREA. I got screwed at other places big time. This place was the only one I actually trusted! I heard the one at bathurst and dundas is trustworthy from my friend, maybe I’ll try that one next time to find a new computer needs spot since Filtech is closed now :(Actually had good customer service.

If you want near unbeatable prices for cords, accessories, custom build computers, replacement of failed components or upgrade to new components and general repair of hardware — they are hard to beat on price and service. Software fixes are not their focus of business — go elsewhere. They specialize mostly in desktop units, Asus laptops. If you want a run of the mill pre-built package — you may find other places that have discounted old stock at more affordable prices. For custom build computers at a small premium — I find this a far better option and you can choose the features and quality of components that you need. I have bought 4 computers from them in 7 years, had repairs done and find them excellant on service and price. And when it comes to components and accessories — their prices are a fraction of the big box stores. Typically their HDMI cables are about 1⁄3 the price and so is the rest of their cables and miscellaneous — lke android cell pnones, tv wall brackets etc.

I’ve been going here many years. Charles has always been very friendly and fair to me. Good prices. If you find a lower price, sometimes he can match it. The advantage of shopping here, as opposed to Canada Computers, is you get honest, knowledgable advice and, after you purchase, really good customer support. I’ve also gone to them to fix computer problems. I’ve found them to be very competent.

I went here because I own an Asus laptop. There were signs posted on the window with Asus logo. The problem was my laptop there was no electricity running into the laptop. The battery was not charging. I thought it was a battery problem. I asked the man at the store, the cost and time to repair and he gave me a rough estimate before I brought my laptop in for repair. I thought it was fair cost. So I brought my laptop in the next day. He checked my laptop adapter and ran a few tests. It turns out to be an adapter issue. He knew what he was doing. I end up purchasing a new adapter. I works fine now. He also suggested that I should not force my laptop to shut down because it ruins the hard drive.

I paid them $ 50 to clean the dust out of my fan(simple job, takes like what, 15 minutes?) My computer was working perfectly fine, all it did was heat up a little but otherwise, FINE. THey ended up taking everything out for some reason, and couldn’t put it back properly, ended up breaking something in the motherboard, so now the computer has no display. And I have no computer. Tried to say it wasn’t their fault, wanted me to pay another $ 80 to fix up their shit, and originally what they said would take 4 hour will take like a week or more to get back to me. After arguing a while(the guy practically YELLED at me until I started crying), they agreed they would pay my repair charges, but they said if the repair center couldn’t fix it they wouldn’t be responsible for breaking my computer.
