Dollarama

The new Dollarama in the Galleria Shopping Centre is a perfectly serviceable outpost of the Canadian dollar store chain, with clean, well-​lit, well-​stocked aisles and a quick checkout line.

This newly opened Dollarama replaces a pub where a very questionable, hoary populace placed bets on horse races. The pub was one dark, depressing hole that i never entered while the new dollar store is a shiny, not-​as-​depressing, hole that does satisfy my dollar dreams: wrapping paper, lining paper, gift bags, couscous et al. I get very nostalgic every time I eat Dollarama couscous: it transports me back to my college days when I was younger, thinner and had a head full of hair!
Since this store is still new, things are still organized and in their appropriate places. Ergo, you can zip in and out without having to refer to your GPS to search for items.
Also, it’s not half as crowded as some other dollar stores so you don’t have to brace yourself for the caterwauling Canadian gallimaufry that usually populates these kinds of store!
No-​so-​fun-​fact: Bain Capital (founded by Mittens Romney) owns (well, owned) a majority stake in dear old Dollarama. Learning this nugget about evil American Corporate’s octopus like reach made me tear up a little, and I briefly entertained the thought of boycotting Dollarama. But thinking about the couscous my resolve instantly shattered.
