Dollarama

Great Dollarama.
First of all, in spite of it being on the trendy part of King St it’s vibe is not one of snobbery but one where I actually think it must benefit from being surrounded by million dollar condos.
Why? Well, the selection of items here is better than most, and they all still cost the same thing. It’s sort of hidden away, but in a good way. Like a hidden gem.
The staff here are very friendly. One girl who was working there was singing as she stocked the shelves which to me is a good sign of happy employees. I’ve asked for a few things, the staff knew where they were right away which, given the clutter that can often accompany dollar stores, is impressive.
I know by design all Dollarama’s are supposed to be alike, but I think this one has the edge over the other downtown versions of the same name.
Worth the trip!

Your typical Dollarama store with an abundance of household products, bath and beauty supplies, gifting supplies, arts and crafts, toys, pet supplies, seasonal items, miscellaneous items and even food. Almost about anything you can think of. Who doesn’t like a bargain and dollar store prices?
Although the store is smaller than most Dollaramas, the location is conveniently at King Street West and Portland amid the King West restaurants, lounges and bars/​clubs which is probably an odd place to have a Dollarama, but it definitely serves the many condos in the area quite well.
Like most Dollarama, shelves are always stocked and well organized. Aisles are spacious and clean. There’s not more to it, but a welcome addition to the neighbourhood. Staff for the most part are generally more friendly than other locations and they actually smile at you when you approach the cash.
My usual go-​to Dollarama because it doesn’t get super busy like the other locations and there are never more than 3 people in front of me in line at any given time.
