I was actually disappointed in the Deaf Culture Centre. It’s such a small place that you could literally walk in and out in 15 minutes or less. And their gift shop contained DVD’s and books, where most of them you could get them in America, such as Gallaudet University. However, it was beautifully decorated and I did learn some tidbits of the Canadian Deaf history. Displays on the walls are really geared towards kids, as they can watch ASL stories or interact with machines. I hope that the DCC will expand by making use of their second floor. DCC is conveniently placed in the Distillery District. You can venture into shops or dine there. Plus, it’s minutes away from downtown Toronto as well as the famed Queen and Church streets. Oh yeah… free admission.
