i resisted this place as long as i could. i always thought it looked more like a place to get your nails done. the staff is ingratiatingly ernest. i think the«I Am a Girl» people got actually jobs and now work at all Davids. however, their teas are very good. EVERYONELOVE tea and open your wallet and then go do some Yoga. be good to yourself. because you deserve to be ripped off. truly expensive. but there’s one really hot guy that works at the Church St. store, so i think that this could justify the cost of a cuppa now and again. i need the eye candy to sooth the wallet rape. call it Tea Therapy.

If you are new to teas or Davids, I recommend getting a sampler. I personally loved the caffeine free one so much, I bought two, one for home and one for work, plus afterwards, the tiny tins are great for carrying around your favourites for when you need a tea fix. I am currently loving the new grape expectations(green tea mix). The matcha bashi(whisk) is legit(my mother approves: she is trained in the traditional japanese tradition of tea ceremony). Some of the teas are a bit too much a punch in the face with strong flavours but overall the blends are great and you can’t go wrong if you know what you like or don’t like and look at the ingredients list. The staff are all so knowledgeable and friendly. My only dislike is that they only have one type of tea sample and sometimes I regret trying it because I don’t like certain combinations.

Good selection, pleasant and knowledgable. I have only been a couple of times, too soon to say. I wish they had more sampling.

I love tea. It always makes me feel better about myself for an extended period of time whereas coffee just gives me an instant high than an instant meltdown. I went to this place yesterday as I was starting to feel sick and asked them what tea was good for a cold(I actually knew this already) and they recommended something with eucalyptus and another one with ginger. Points to them for knowing that. The lady at the cash was very efficient, friendly, courteous and knowledgeable and that’s all I ask for. So why is this place only getting 3 stars? They only have one type of tea that they let you sample at a time, whereas Teavana always has 4 – 5 types for you to sample. I feel having only one sample is kind of forcing you to buy that one or leave. What they should have is rotating samples of green tea, roobios tea, black tea and oolong tea and have all 5 each day. There is plenty to choose from and this would be a better marketing strategy. Just stand out at the corner and offer some. I’m sure it’ll bring in business.

A nice sized David’s Tea, bright and well laid out. Staff was extremely friendly, greeted us upon arrival. Immediately brought free samples of the Tea of the Day. I was looking for caffeine free tea, and the lady explained to me some of the popular ones that they had. I told her this was to give advice to someone who is looking to get me a gift — so I wanted to be able to steer them there with some direction. She gave me a «Tea Menu», which is a booklet with all their teas listed in it, which was very helpful. However, when we perused the store on our own afterwards, we saw pre-packaged tea sets and little assorted tin sets with all caffeine-free tea… that would have been super helpful to know about, and had we not looked around on our own, we wouldn’t have known.

Every time you enter David’s Tea you are offered 2 free samples of what they have on tap. It’s a great way to try a flavor before buying and I have actually discovered one of my favorite teas this way. They also sell cups o’ tea to stay or go. There is quite a large selection of tea paraphernalia such as cups, to-go mugs, strainers, thermometers, honey sticks, agave sticks, tea bags, tea filters, etc. The massive wall of tea is quite impressive and packed with every type of tea imaginable as well as some you never knew existed. The selection includes the most expensive delicate hand-picked white teas of China, black teas that everyone knows, resteepable roobois teas that are 100% caffeine free, magical mates, pu’erh, oolong, and a myriad of herbal tinctures. I spent a lot of money here shopping for Christmas gifts. It suddenly occurred to me that tea was a great gift for people you don’t really know what they need. Everyone can use tea in the winter! They had some pretty awesome seasonal teas – chocolate chili chai, alpine punch, merry cranberry, etc. In January they had a nice set to ward off evil colds. Instead of buying the pack, I put my own together and fell in love with Cold 911. It is divine and truly helped with my cold. Don’t be freaked out by the price of tea displayed… you can buy as little or as much as you want. I tend to go for a 25 g bag to try out a flavor for the first time and come back for more(100 g) when/if i decide I’m in love. Bonus: this is a Canadian company.
