DaLish is a cosmetics brand that I must have heard or seen around. Only recently, however, thanks to an Ethical Deal promo, did I really notice them. Cruelty-free, Peta-approved, except that they use beeswax(some vegetarians feel that since some bees’ legs are accidentally ripped off while beekeepers are handling their homes, that anything derived from bees isn’t veg-friendly). I went to founder Melanie’s home today, for her workshop. She’s experienced enough to be able to produce the cosmetics at home. Myself and one other, were given pink/neutral/coral hued choices for our lipsticks. For $ 30, we were able to make two. The original Ethical Deal was $ 29. for three customized shades. Feedback from Melanie and my fellow lipstick maker, was usually pretty positive. A more critical reaction, would have suited me fine. I took their words with a grain of salt. We learned how to make lip balm from scratch. It’s not overwhelmingly complicated, but it does require ingredients that will hopefully be easy to find. Worth the $ 30 for 2 lip balms? I’d keep my eyes open for a $ 30 for 3 balms deal. Better value. Would i go again? Maybe someday. Type of person that I’d recommend this to? A crafty person who enjoys making her own products. Or someone who really enjoys wearing lipstick. Kids? Kid-friendly, but neither baby nor infant-friendly.
