This is the type of place I love to go to — local café with great quality and premium offerings. I had a cappuccino(perfect), grilled cheese(very good — aged cheddar melted in my mouth), butternut squash veggie soup(okay — needed some s&p), and a maple pecan butter cup(excellent). Obviously I went big with my order and wasn’t disappointed at all. Love the feel of the place and all the staff were nice. Not bad value either for a local gourmet café — $ 18. Will go back for a cappuccino tomorrow :)

Great little coffee, pastry and local goods market in the neighbourhood. We come here frequently for the grilled cheese sandwiches which are delicious. They have a great selection of specialty cheeses as well which is their strength. The owner of Crème Fraiche also organize the Farmer’s Market at the Church nearby on Wednesdays in season. It’s small but very popular with the community and a great place to grab fresh vegetables and other snacks. overall, we are a big fan of this place and happy to support local businesses like this one.

I’d only heard great things about this place, and was really excited when I had the chance to check it out. I’m a big fan of supporting local farmers and artisans, and was looking forward to seeing what kind of goods they had. The store was very cute and had a little patio off to the side that looked like it would be a great place to sit and enjoy your food and drinks in the summer. The inside was just as cute, and had a variety of baked goods, packaged products and fresh items. Unfortunately, this is where my experience took a slight turn for the worse. I ordered a maple latte and was chatting a bit with the staff(a girl working in the café and a woman who I think was the owner in the back), and they didn’t seem very friendly. There was a box of cards with stamps on them and I asked about them because they looked so cute, and was shortly informed that you get them for buying drinks to get a free one, and was then told how much my latte was with no mention of starting a card for me. I would have asked, but I was beginning to feel very uncomfortable and embarrassed and just wanted to leave so I took my latte and left. The latte wasn’t very good either, it mostly just tasted like very sweet steamed milk. Maybe I just went during an off day? I’d really like to try again because I had such high hopes for this place and it didn’t meet any of my expectations :(

This store is the real thing. It’s a source of locally purchased foods of quality. Always fresh. Excellent coffees. Always supporting the organic and fair trade communities. Wonderful daily soups and grilled cheese sandwiches. Some of the best artisanal food staples you can find, are here. Only small concern is that it is a bit expensive for a grilled cheese sandwich and the soup. Still it’s a wonderful small business to support. You know when you shop here that they have done your homework, for you and you can shop with confidence as to the source and quality of what you purchase. Pies. Baked goods. Breads. Great Cheeses. Salsas. and more…
