This is a very interesting museum located in High Park. It was the home of John Howard who owned the entire land known as High Park. The house is furnished in the 1800’s, the period when it was lived in. The guides are very knowledgable and entertaining. We went during Christmas period and the museum is set up for a Victorian Christmas. They even gave us hot apple cider and gingerbread cookies. Very interesting place to bring visitors without all the crowds.

Colborne Lodge is a great piece of Toronto history. This is a prime spot to learn more about the home, as well as life on the far edges of Toronto at the time. Each room of the house is carefully decorated(with some original pieces) to recreate the experience for guests. The guided tour is thorough, yet for some it may be a bit exhausting. While the guides are excellent at their jobs and super enthusiastic, the tour lasts about an hour and a half, possibly more if there are lots of questions from others on the tour. The house is only viewed by the tour. Therefore, it is not ideal for kids or people with little patience for long tours. That being said, it is a great walk back in time. If you want to know more about Toronto and its environs over 150 years ago, this is a worthwhile stop.
