Worse service I have ever received from a vet! I STRONGLY recommend you DO NOT go to Bloor West Village Animal Hospital. I read reviews and thought this was a good place. They are only nice so you fill out the survey and give them a good review. After that, they don’t care. I changed vets to this location and thought my cats would be in good hands. Boy was I wrong. They recommended dental surgery for the one cat. We did it and they had no problem taking my money. It’s been over 3 weeks since the surgery and my cat has been having problems. She stopped eating and was in a lot of pain. I was very worried and thought it was an inflection. I called them 4 times in one day and they didn’t care that I told them my cat hasn’t eaten in a few days and I think it’s an infection from the dental surgery. The only thing they offered was an appointment in 5 days. I even asked if they could refer me to somewhere else or any assistance. They said no. Didn’t even try to help. This honestly wouldn’t have taken more than 10 minutes to see my cat and giver her some meds. They did nothing to accommodate me. They did this surgery and was responsible for her being in pain and didn’t care. I wasn’t going to wait 5 days and keep my cat in pain. I ended up calling emergency places and found a vet (that was already booked up) that agreed to see her. They understood and cared that my cat was in pain. They and along with all the emergency places where in STOCK that my vet (now ex-vet) who did the surgery wouldn’t even try to see her and help her. They couldn’t believe I had to wait 5 days to bring her in. They said a cat not eating in 24 hours is a big concern. It turned out, I was right, it was an infection from the surgery they did. Not to mention the extra cost of having to take her somewhere else. The appointment didn’t even last 10 minutes. This place, Bloor West Village Animal Hospital is awful. I sent them two emails to complain and I haven’t even got a response or apologize from them. That is how much they care. If you love your pet, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT go there. When you really need them, they won’t help. It’s all about the money to them. I’m so disappointment and can’t believe they put her in pain and then did nothing to fix it. Wow, worse place ever!!

We were clients here until one night, my dog was in destress, he was throwing up over and over again. I called the vet and Sam informed me that they were closing in half an hour and couldn’t squeeze me in. So sorry. I explained that my dog was very sick and needed immediate attention from his vet. They said that they could refer me to an emergency clinic. I will never bring my dogs back here. There is no excuse for turning a patient away who is in destress like this. Terrible vet. Avoid at all costs.

We dropped by as our cat was really sick.
They were really nice and compared to other places they are not trying to get money out of you.

I’ve had several problems with this vet clinic.
They’ve tried to rip us off on several occasions, charged us for things we didn’t have done, and when we confronted them they argued that we did. We had proof that the cat was micro-​chipped else where and this was the only reason they removed it from the bill. We showed proof that he was micro-​chipped prior to the visit so I don’t understand why would we microchip twice? The front staff claimed the vet told them.
They also claimed my animals are missing vaccinations when I brought them in with their papers. I told them that the ones checked off were they ones they’ve had done, apparently that’s not explicit enough.
Most recently my cats were suppose to not have anymore ear mites after two rounds of treatment but guess what? They still have it! I honestly even wondered if they administered the dose the last time because they insisted on taking the animals into the back and we were left in the waiting room.
Moreover, every time we go in the vet asks the exact same questions (what are they eating, do they go outside — for cats, etc) multiple times throughout one visit. Either he has a bad memory or isn’t paying attention.
It seems every time we go in they gouge you for money. If they weren’t walking distance and my cats didn’t get motion sickness I would go else where in a heartbeat. I’ve been to quite a few vets throughout Toronto in all my years and they’ve been one of the worst.
ONLY pros: — They’re «friendly-​ish» and their office looks very nice. But I guess that’s what an $ 72.50 examination fee gets you.

I adopted my cat last October and because BWVAH is in my neighborhood, I decided it would be a convenient vet office for my feline friend and myself, but it’s so much more than that! They send us adorable little emails addressed to my kitty, they hold contests for pets, and Figaro (my cat) gets treated so well here! All of the staff have a genuine interest in pets and helping people and the prices are pretty reasonable. The reception staff are extremely helpful in booking appointments and the vets that I have dealt with have been helpful, kind, well educated, honest and professional. It’s hard to take your pet to a vet, especially if they aren’t feeling well but this office makes me feel comfortable and I genuinely trust the staff with Figaro. I would definitely recommend this vet office to anyone!

Today was my first visit to Bloor West Animal Hospital and I can not say enough great things about this clinic. Winston had previously been going to another clinic in the area which I was not happy with AT ALL… but thats a whole other review :)
Today I had to rush my boston terrier, Winston, to the clinic due to an unfortunate accident. My other Boston Sophie, got a little rough while playing and tore Winstons eyeball open as well as his third eyelid. Long story short, I rushed him to see Dr O’toole. He took such great care of Winston, showing so much compassion and concern for his well-​being. He was very detailed and thorough with the exam and ran several tests to see if there was any damage to Winston’s vision. He also addressed some other concerns I had while I was there and offered me lots of different options as solutions.
I felt the rates they charge are very reasonable and slightly cheaper than anywhere else in the area including the vet clinic we had previously been taking Winston to.
All in all, I am thrilled with Dr O’Toole and his staff at Bloor West Animal Hospital. I will highly recommend this clinc to all the pet owners I know.

I recently got a new kitten and stopped in at this clinic one day to get information about vaccines and prices. While I love my pets and care deeply for them, I don’t like the idea of being taken advantage of or taken for a ride! The receptionist was great, gave me all the info I asked for, looked up prices and explained certain processes.
I finally took kitty in for her big day yesterday and the vet was great. She answered all my questions and was gentle with Sophie. The staff were patient and even held onto her while I dug in my purse for my wallet.
Today I got a follow-​up call from the clinic to see how Sophie did with her vaccines and to make sure she didn’t have any reactions.
I’m pretty impressed so far.

We recently took our kitten here to have her spayed. We adopted her not too long ago, but have become quite attached as she’s really friendly, plays fetch and purrs like there’s no tomorrow. Understandably, I was nervous about her surgery. The staff at the hospital were lovely. Calling to remind us and letting us add on a microchip to her services (I’d forgotten to ask when initially booking the appointment). My boyfriend took her in on Friday morning and I picked her up on Saturday morning. Dr. Chung was at the hospital when I picked her up. She was lovely and didn’t think I was crazy when I asked lots of questions and she insisted that we bring our kitten back if we had any concerns or if she needed pain meds. She told us to keep the kitten quiet for the next few days.
Hmmm, well if I didn’t see the little shaved leg where the put in her I.V. and her shaved belly and incision I would have guessed that they hadn’t done anything to the kitten.
Once at home she bathed herself thoroughly and then proceeded to run around, jump on windowsills and try to climb into the chimney, ie. act completely normally.
We are super happy with how things went with our kitten.
