Yeah, the pricing is really sketchy. It is impossible to get a straight answer from them when you ask how much it’s going to cost to join. I’m posting this here so no one else has to deal with the phone/email/in-person frustration that I did: $ 299 for a membership, then $ 24 a month(you have to pay first-and-last) With no membership, $ 49 a month.

Bloor Fitness is an awesome neighbourhood gym! The staff are so friendly and helpful and they really go above and beyond to make your experience a great one. Not only is it extremely reasonably priced, but you never have to wait for equipment and they have great fitness classes all included in your membership. Definitely go check this place out!

Solid, no-frills gym. I’ve been a member for a number of years now and overall, have no complaints. Nice staff. Big plus is that it is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I go at various times of the day and it’s never overly busy. Equipment-wise, there are 4 elliptical machines, 2 bikes, a row machine, and 4 treadmills. One Smith machine and one power rack, and more than enough free weights. There is also a sizeable studio with boxing bags; a number of classes(incl. with your membership) are held there throughout the week. Membership is very reasonable, in the $ 35−40/month range. No showers or change-rooms(as the other reviews point out) though, so keep that in mind. Pluses — Open 24⁄7! — Reasonable membership fees — Flexible membership options — Doesn’t get crazy busy a la your typical Goodlife Minuses — No showers or change-rooms

(Don’t let the name fool you, this location of Bloor Fitness really is on Dupont!) What a refreshing change from the big chain gyms! No annoying sales pitches, motivational posters(well, maybe a few weird ones of vegetables) or TVs on every wall to lull you into a stupor while you work out. Instead, this place has a cool industrial warehouse vibe to it, with lots of exposed steel beams and windows that actually open and get sunshine. While not huge, the gym has a good variety of free weights, machines and cardio equipment. Friendly staff and a good mix of users. Doesn’t seem to get too crowded but it still feels energetic. And it’s open 24 hours, for you shift workers and insomniacs. Major negative: incredibly, there are no change rooms or showers here, so you’ll have to change in a cramped bathroom if you’re not the smelly-gym-clothes-in-public type. Also, although it bills itself as a boxing gym, there is no boxing ring. Membership fees were pretty affordable when I checked this place out, and on reasonable terms(no long term contract, and you can put your membership on hold). I did a free week trial but didn’t join(I don’t live nearby), but I still drop in occasionally on Wednesdays for a good fitness class and just pay per visit.
