Stop #4 on the Dirty Danforth pub crawl. Up to this point, our stops had been disappointing in that they were actually nice, but the tide was about turn. Big Ronnie’s, like the Eton, Maple Leaf and The Only before it, is a welcoming place. Welcoming as in the bartender literally saying, «Hey guys, come on in.» Big Ronnie’s, like the Eton, Maple Leaf before it, is a not the prettiest bar we’ve ever visited. Think glorified patio furniture, old fold-up chairs, many, many burnt out lights and an out of service toilet. Also, I’m pretty sure that I heard the sound of a 1000 dead souls crying for salvation. Fortunately, the bottle selection was passable, the price was right and we stayed just long enough to hover our arms over the tables without actually touching them. Unless you’re looking for ducking the cops, looking for some e-coli, or maybe you’re on a dirty pub crawl yourself, I’d be tempted to keep on walking.
