Cheap and convenient were what I had in mind when I dropped into Bennett Cleaners to have a peacoat altered. I stopped by at around 1pm on a Saturday. After explaining what I wanted, the lady working there had me put on the coat so she could show me how much she intended to take off(there is a full length mirror in the establishment). It was a little hard to communicate since her English wasn’t the very best, but it was good enough to work with, and she had a good eye for this and was very knowledgable — the length she had in mind was perfect. I was told that the job of shortening the sleeves and hemline would cost $ 40 plus taxes, an average price, but the exterior of the store had led me to believe that bargain prices were offered. I had noticed a sign out front touting same day services for alterations and repairs, so I asked if it would be possible for me to pick up the garment later that day, and the lady agreed to have it ready for me by 4:30pm. However, when I came back at that time, she was still working on the coat and asked me to come back in another half an hour, which was closing time. Having tried the coat on afterwards, I do think that the end result was well worth the wait. The lady did a great job and I could hardly tell that anything had been done to the garment! If I ever need to have anything professionally altered again I would definitely consider taking it to Bennett Cleaners

Don’t bring in anything of great value. They destroy your clothing. I wouldn’t go back there if it was free.

This dry cleaner is completely middle of the road. Their prices are about average, which is probably higher than I would have expected given the location. They are open from about 7:30 am to 6 pm Monday to Saturday. That’s not late enough in the evening for me to get there so I usually find myself going in the morning before work. They don’t actually do the cleaning there, but send it out. The pricing is kind of odd because the ticket they give you at first instance has no prices, only the ticket they keep for themselves has the pricing information so you have to kind of try and see it before it goes into a drawer. It’s always a real struggle for them to locate your clothes when you go to pick them up as sometimes they hang it based on last name, other times based on first and occasionally they just hang it wherever. The positives are that I have never received anything back with any sort of problems(rips, stains, missing buttons) and they do good work when it comes to repairs and alterations. Alterations are priced very reasonably.
