Found a bug in my salad. Waitress removed it from my bill. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

Truly disjointed, the food is average at best and the service is poor. The waitress was slow, seemed flustered despite it being small and there being three of them. I ordered chocolate chip pancakes which had no chocolate chips in them, only some sprinkled on top which just screams cheap. The pancakes themselves were dry and flavourless. Then on my last bite I found a hair, I showed the waitress and rather then apologize she argued, «No one in the kitchen has hair.» I explained that it wasn’t mine and was clearly cooked into the pancakes. The waitress said she would correct it and returned to explain that it was not a hair but a piece of plastic off packaging. I think she felt this made it better, it did not. She took $ 1.82 off my bill explaining that she would discount the pancakes. Seriously??? A hair or foreign object was found in my food and I still have to pay for said food??? Unheard of. When I approached the waitress about this she literally threw her hands in the air and said, «I did as instructed, you can talk to management.» The owner came over and I explained about the hair/object, the $ 1.82 discount and the attitude of the waitress. He smiled and replied, «I’m sorry.» Clearly he was not because he left it as was. I left as he spoke to my three friends and my friend said, «clearly his pride was hurt because he wasn’t concerned about the upset customer, more concerned with appeasing himself that their food was good. What he failed to realize is that because of my experience he lost myself and my three friends as customers, especially since we brunch together. Today there were four of us but usually there are eight of us and he lost all of us as customers because he was too cheap to comp $ 5 pancakes. He fails to see the bigger picture. None of this surprises me because he has one article written about his hot sauce laminated and practically plastered all over the restaurant. Clearly it is his one claim to fame but he needs to focus less on boasting about his 15 minutes of fame and more on his food and customer service. I will NEVER go back!!!

I used to love this place for brunch and we used to go often. But recently my last few visits have been mediocre. I usually get the Hungry Man for the variety, knowing full well that I won’t eat it all. But last couple of times, I had to send back my eggs for being under cooked — still had clear runny parts in it, and the blueberry pancakes are tasting too tart or sour now. They used to be light, fluffy and great. I’ve tried to keep giving them my business but I’m not sure I can given my last few disappointing visits.

I was craving jerk chicken and wanted the diner experience. Well, I cannot complain about the diner experience. The chairs were so old, I was worried I would pick up lice or bed bugs from those broken chair cushioning. The server was a bit stern. I asked for a refill of water and she chided me that she was getting meals to serve other customers! Too bad she had already neglected me. The jerk chicken was unfortunately inedible due to the exceedingly hot and spicy sauce. I could not even enjoy the rice and peas which did look delicious. They do serve a generous chicken portion — honestly, it reminded me of chicken supremes from Sanagan’s meat locker. But along with this, came a spoonful of greasy sauce. It was not pleasing to the eye. I seriously doubt that my taste buds cannot handle spice because I eat spicy food and use spice in my cooking. But this, was simply inedible.

Having lived for years in the Beaches, we frequented this place often. Coming back for a visit we were happy to see it still is there and had some nice improvements in the signage and the menu. Particularly because we try to avoid gluten, and there were quite a few gluten free choices. My dining companion was satisfied with his bacon and eggs and gluten free toast but thought that the servings could have been a bit bigger for the price point. The service was excellent. However I was pretty disappointed with my «Lobster Benedict». My first bite I realized it was not lobster. It was in fact the imitation lobster made with largely pollock or whitefish food colouring and possibly some flavour or a very small amount of lobster. Nowhere on the menu did it mention that this was not real lobster. If I wanted whitefish benedict it would have been ok. When the gentleman(I believe was the chef owner) asked how our meal was, I was polite but honest. His response was that was the only kind of lobster that was available if you weren’t near the ocean,(not true) and that is was a high quality lobster 80% with some fillers. He said it was expensive, and if that is true he is being ripped off. I wont be having that again, and not sure if I would really want to eat there again, because he didn’t apologize, didn’t offer me any reason to feel good about my disappointment such as a discount etc. It was advertised and priced as lobster. Unfortunately it wasn’t.

This experience was unbelievably terrible. I went with a group of eleven people. We all ordered and everything seemed fine until the owner came over to us and informed us that anyone at our table who hadn’t ordered anything wouldn’t be allowed to stay. It was outrageous that in a group that size, with almost everyone ordering a full meal, even three people wouldn’t be allowed to just sit with us?(They ended up ordering coffees.) Our server took a very long time to get us our waters, even after we asked about it. Water! And when she finally brought it, she spilled it all over one of my friends, and brushed it off with a casual«watch your pants.» The food was mediocre at best. Greasy and overpriced. Having felt very uncomfortable with the whole experience, we naturally didn’t leave large tips. You tip what’s deserved, right? Apparently wrong. The owner stopped us on our way out and lectured us about how to properly leave tips! A terrible experience as a whole. Never going back.

An average breakfast spot. I always get The Hungry Man when I go here and it’s a lot of food! The potatoes here are never quite right but they do decent bacon and eggs. The highlight for me is the French Toast which are nice and crispy. The service is decent. The food comes out quickly but on many occasions my water glass never gets refilled despite the restaurant not being very busy. Don’t expect to have your mind blown but you can a decent breakfast here for a decent price nothing more nothing less.

I don’t often write reviews, but I felt I should warn people that the Beachside Grill closes randomly even though their website and phone message say they are open till a certain time. Really like their food, but at least three times in the last few months we have shown up two hours before closing time to find it closed. Another time we called to check, they said they would be open till eight which was their posted closing time, and again showed up to find the restaurant closed. Recently we called an hour and a half before closing time to check if they were open, just to be told no the chef is closing early today so even if you come in the next 10 minutes we won’t serve you. I really feel they should update their website to indicate they are open until the chef feels like closing. It’s a shame because they do have good food but they have certainly lost our business. Be forewarned and call ahead-but I really have to question their focus on their customers.

Fairly mediocre food, but large portions. Our three orders were mixed up(we ordered our food with side salads but they came with piles of pre-frozen French fries).

We’ve had breakfast here twice now. Originally, the Beachside Grill was recommended to us by our friends who live in the Beach. Both times we were thrilled with the food and the service. I had the gluten free classic breakfast and loved the sausages. The home fries are the best I’ve ever had — really tasty! Another bonus, no long wait time for seating.

Went for Sunday breakfast and the fried eggs were slightly burnt but eadible none the less. Service by Sue was good, kept the coffee cup full and food brought out on time. A lot if the service improvement were because of the owner’s hand on management. Would recommend the resto if you are looking for a good greasy spoon.

Not quite sure what the last few new reviews experienced… We loved it here! Came in Sunday morningish and the place was a little more than half full. Ordered our food and got it under 10 minutes. I had a classic breakfast which came with 3 small eggs, the only downside to it, a nice thick piece of ham and home fries with toast. The bread must have either been made in house or bought from a bakery because it was almost as good as my grandma’s… Which is really saying something! My husband had the waffles and said they were good too. Service was attentive and I watched the chef come out and talk to tables too. We will deff be back!

So disappointing. Right from the start, I felt that it was going to be an awkward experience. The waitress was full of attitude and unwelcoming. My friend ordered his meal and asked to taste their famous hot sauce. She came back with a small mason jar of the stuff, asking if we wanted to buy it. I was disgusted by the up-sell. she ended up giving him a soup spoon of sauce… literally on a soup spoon on the side of his plate to taste this magical sauce. It was such a small amount, it didn’t taste like anything. It was a slightly runny and spicy ratatouille. If they had given us a small ramekin of it, I might have bought more. It felt really wrong. I hate being sold to while I am eating. Imagine us siting there and sharing the $ 5 mini mason jar of sauce. If I was offered at the exit to buy a jar after I had some and enjoyed it would have been a different story. As for the food… I ordered 3 runny poached eggs and got 2 fully cooked and one runny. The corned beef was gummy. The potatoes were good but too many. Overall, a poor experience.

What a wonderful experience dining here. Chicken souvlaki dinner is delicious. sandwiches are enormous and so good, especially the chicken club sandwich! And breakfasts there are Omg… so good!

A dirty butter knife on the floor underneath our table, dirty menus, the same Justin Timberlake songs on repeat, inedibly hot roti, no sour cream or yogurt to help with said roti, a wireless credit card terminal that didn’t work, and a kids’ grilled cheese sandwich that was… just half a grilled cheese sandwich. An all around disagreeable experience. Server was nice though. That’s all.

Sometimes under new management is a good thing, sometimes it is not. Unfortunately, the case with Beachside Grill is the latter. This used to be our go-to spot for breakfast in the beach. It changed hands last year and friends said to avoid it since. We listened for a year, but finally gave it a shot. They were right. They got rid of all the old wait staff(who were great!) to be replaced by those not as concerned about your experience– and the experience has gone downhill. Bad, loud music, overcooked bacon and prices jacked way up. This place needs the old owners back :(

NEWOWNERSALERT! Food quality was terrible, eggs were tasteless, fries were soggy and ‘fruit salad’ was one piece of melon on the side. Service was very slow, despite the restaurant only being half full. We will not return. Go to Sunset Grill and wait for a table, it’s worth it.

Beachside Grill is where the beaches does breakfast and to be honest with you I have no idea if they do anything else. I have only been here for breakfast and only because its very close to my girlfriends place. The breakfast is not horrible its just not great either but you get what you pay for and this place is quick and easy and does all the traditional breakfast meals. As this place is in the beaches it can get pretty busy with a lot of families and kids so on weekends it can be kind of loud. I would have to say that if you’re looking for a breakfast that will knock your socks off you’ve come to the wrong place but if quick easy and decent is what you need you’ll find it at the Beachside

I love Breakfast. I love brunch. I love crispy bacon crunch. Tried the Beachside Grill for the first time the other day. Being just a short walk from home is super convenient. We needed food, we needed it to be quick. The eggs were cooked perfect, i like over medium not to runny. Mmmmm for rye toast! and the bacon was nice and crispy. Plus they don’t skimp on the bacon! There were at least 4 big pieces. The hash browns/potatoes were really good too! The potatoes are a deal breaker for me usually. I love potatoes! They were seasoned nicely and soft with some crisp to them. Perfect. Really yummy breakfast!
