Overall: Took the dim sum couples course, which allotted 16 people, broken into four groups of two couples. Splitting into small groups to rotate between stations was fantastic. Allowed for more intimate interaction with instructor/peers and everyone gets a perfect view of the demo. The area was quaint and adorable. Stations were small and close together though so not sure how a class that involved actual cooking would work. Liked that students sat together at the end to eat and mingle. We had fun as a couple and as a group. Worth the value(almost half the price of other places) and good as a first cooking class experience. Improvement Areas: Timing/switching stations was a bit of a mess. As well as preparedness at each station for each group. They were definitely winging it a bit. Students sat as a group at the end to enjoy the fruits of our labour but they didn’t sort the cooked dishes by group so we didn’t get to see or eat what we specifically made, which is usually the fun part. Equipment and area was a bit disgusting — old pots and pans were stashed together in multiple piles about to topple, paper towel rolls were stuffed everywhere, handprints covered the fridges, thick layer of dust on the mirror… didn’t affect our time there, but other classes I’ve gone to are sterile spotless with brand new looking equipment neatly stored. If you’re looking for a valuable learning session to improve your cooking skills, you may leave a bit dissatisfied as they simply walk through recipe steps with you, which I could have googled and done so at home.

This place is great! They offer themed cooking classes for couples or singles. Each class has set menu of a specific type of food: Italian, French, Chinese, Indian, Moroccan, Mexican, etc. The concept is basically to cook the meal as a group, and later enjoy the creations as a group. There are 2 qualified chefs to guide and assist and a server to run the bar(wine included). You meet some great people and learn some useful cooking techniques. The class is a tad on the pricey side at $ 100/person, but makes a great gift and is a lot of fun!
