This is the best badminton gym for your money. Before commander opened up, it’s basically the only badminton gym near/off of the 401. The convenient location and best priced courts earn AOBC5 stars. I usually go for drop-in and buy the punch card in bulk. This is a great option as it brings your average cost per play down under $ 5 a pop. The drop-in times don’t really make sense to me… I basically go after dinner at 8:30 ish and play until close. It is often really busy before 9:30 and generally on good days, the owner David, will open til 11:15 or until he sees that people are ready to leave. Generally you will need to bring a partner so that you have someone to play with; however if you don’t know anyone, you can meet people that are around your level there. I think they really need to implement some sort of racquet hanging system for their drop-in courts, as right now it’s mostly a jump-on when the chicken squawks or a game is done. Free and plentiful parking at the back around the trucks. Will be difficult to find on your first try, it’s basically at the back and if you look up, you will see the AOBC sign. And as a last bonus, there’s free wifi!

This is a really great place to play badminton. There’s a lot of space and it’s easy to drop-in and play with the regulars or bring your own group. The owner sometimes joins in on a game if there aren’t enough people and he’s a great player. A lot of the regulars are really kind and open to challenging new-comers. The prices are really fair(they fluctuate depending on when you go and whether you rent a full court or just drop-in) and they’re open everyday until late in the evening. If you plan on going often, you can join their membership to get cheaper rates. They also have a lot of chairs around the courts to take breaks or put your belongings on, if you’re worried about storing them. It’s a little difficult to find because the entrance is at the back of a building and it looks like an old warehouse, but the instructions on the website are enough to guide you. They have two floors. The lower floor has a huge ceiling and the courts are marginally more spaced out and the second floor is where the main desk is, as well as the drop-in area and other courts that can be rented.
