This sobeys location is small and old, defiantly needs a reno. The inside looks dark, messy/dirty, everything is packed and put at weird places, the displays are old and gross, I don’t get a good feeling when I come in here, feels like the things on the selves have been sitting there for way too long. The people who work here don’t have much knowledge of the products either. I can’t believe this operates under the sobeys name, gives sobeys a bad rep. and they are not all like this, at this locations.

Since I am from the east coast, I grew up shopping at Sobeys which is a east coast grocery store. This is the closest Sobeys to where I live now, and it also happens to be a Kosher store. It is definitely a different store compared to most other Sobeys, they offer many different Kosher items, anything kosher you may want, this is the store for you. Just like the rest of the Unilocalers have said, the customer service here truly does suck! If you need help in any of the departments be prepared to wait ALLDAY and I mean it too! Nobody wants to help you and for that its down a star in my book. Customer service is something everybody needs, especially at a meat counter unless you want me to start cutting my own meat, which if it saves me standing there looking like a lost puppy I might just get the job done myself! :)

I shop here only by necessity as I keep Kosher and Sobeys has a huge kosher section, glatt kosher meat section, kosher bakery, etc in the store. There is ZERO customer service at the bakery and fish dept. and if you need help in the meat dept. good luck getting someone to help you. I stood 10 mins at the fish counter and when I saw an employee she told me she was going on break. A manager had to service my request. Generally the meat and fish dept are well stocked. The kosher bakery is not great and they tend to sell 3 day old bread at the regular price, so watch the dates on the baked goods. The kosher aisles are plentiful and well stocked, lots to choose from. The cashiers are also very nice. The main problem is the customer service in the meat/fish/bakery area. Also, I find the fruits and veggies of poor quality and overpriced. The management is very nice and accommodating, so that is one bonus in shopping there(I bought 2 glass jars of soup and accidentally dropped them, and the manager replaced it no cost to me.)

This Sobey’s is a Kosher Sobeys. The bakery and deli are 100% kosher. The customer service is lacking customer service :) You maybe ignored as you stand at the meat deli and four employees look at you and continue to mop the floor… BUT their chicken wings are the best I have had. They have a nice selection of ‘hot food to go’(noodles, chicken, wedges, rice, and sometimes perogies). I would go there more if they had better customer service.

It’s Sobeys — yes but how it’s _unique_is that offer many Kosher foods, from dairy, deli, meats, cheeses, dry goods. Went here to get Potato Latke package and this Sobey’s didn’t disappoint I found 4 brands and 3 varieties from each company. Regular, home style, and low sodium. haha Imagine me an asian guy standing in the grocery isle going through 12 packages! of Potato Lattes to determine the best one. Great selection for Kosher foods nuff said. :)

Today we were in line to pay for our items when the Sobey’s employee at the«service» desk asked for the next customer. We walked over to her with our hand basket and placed it on the counter. The Sobey’s employee lifted the basket and harshly dumped all of our stuff on the counter including pricey fruit. I was in shock before I became angry after this most customer unfriendly act by a Sobey’s customer service employee. We told her we wouldn’t take the fruit because it was probably all bruised(and the prices were not cheap so why buy damaged fruit). If this is the type of person they hire for the«service» desk, I’ll stick to Loblaws when I visit again.
