Heeman’s

I went to Heeman’s for their Winter Open House. While I missed out this summer to see their greenhouses in action, full of flowers and plants, I still had a nice time picking out greenery and decorations for my home for Christmas.
They recently built a coffee shop inside the store this year that sells Fire Roasted Coffee. This is a nice addition since we went in the morning and could have used a coffee and a hot chocolate. My boyfriend loved his flat white and my hot chocolate was perfectly creamy. You wouldn’t expect this kind of coffee quality in the middle of a greenhouse!
I loved that they had some workshops set up in the greenhouse. I guess they offer these throughout the winter months. So you could make a winter urn or a sled wreath using greenery that they provide, with instruction of course.
They had lots of different colour styles of décor to choose from. If you are more traditional, they have red, burgundy, and gold. If you are a bit more funky like me, they have lime green and teal decorations galore!
They had a ton of succulents in different pots and containers. They are very easy to take care of. They also had a ton of bird houses. If you want to build a Fairy Garden, Heeman’s has everything you need!
You can tell that the employees at Heeman’s enjoy what they do. Everyone was very helpful and they made the shopping experience very pleasant.
I cannot wait to return in the spring to plant some flowers in my new garden!

Beautiful greenhouse. Small produce stand in front with the daily offerings. Prices are about the same as the supermarkets for berries BUT the flavour is soooo good from the farm! You can actually TASTE the berry flavour!
*My ONLY gripe is that one of the pints of raspberries I bought was loaded with mouldy berries. I wound up picking out at least 20 berries that were bad. Made me wonder when the berries were actually picked. That said, the other pint was perfect as were the blueberries and strawberries I purchased at the same time.
Plenty of parking, great hours of operation. They also offer pick-​your-​own patches but call ahead to be sure it’s available when you plan to go.
