Vancouver Hairdressing Academy – Panorama

If you have a lot of time, not a lot of money, and don’t really care what you look like when you leave, this is the place for you. For the record, I am a lady with shorter hair, trying to grow it out. I didn’t really know what I wanted, but I came with a picture anyway. My very nice hair stylist kindly told me that she didn’t think it was the cut for me. Two hours and much help from the teacher later, I left looking pretty much the same as I came, but I guess with no split ends. They were very complimentary and made me feel good about it anyway. The people are very nice and it’s a good low cost option if you can’t afford a $ 50 haircut. The product (literally called «Product») is pretty decent and smells nice, and the head massage is also a nice touch. For the once a year haircut that I usually get, I feel okay coming here.
Also for the record– they were super accommodating and took me the very same afternoon that I was interested in coming in.

Let me give you a run down of the «type» of «hair-​guy» I am…
I’m the guy that’s usually familiar with chains such as — «Magic Cuts» and was hesitant to visit this location as I’m rather hesitant when it comes to going a new venue, specially for mah hair! Max 15 – 20 minute haircuts, your in and out and your paying for a subpar haircut for generic prices.
This has all changed since I’ve visit Vancouver Hair Academy.
The place was bustling, young folks in there. Friendly people right at the start as you walk in.
The individual that cut my hair had been associated with the academy for 4 months, and I was one of her very few male clients.
She ensured that we communicated on the same level of expectations of how the outcome would be and she always checked we me often on the length, blending etc.
She was overseen by a seasoned mentor and was often being critiqued and instructed as the minutes went by.
I got the best haircut I’ve ever gotten in many many years, shampoo and conditioner (which included a fricken amazing head massage), cut and style — all for $ 15 (not including tip)
Definitely going again, not even going to consider other places at this point!
*- Keep in mind, you will need at least an hour-​plus if you’re a gentleman!

If you’re not in a hurry, good place for hair services… cuts, colours, etc done by supervised students
