Salon Blue

Van is one of my favorite stylist. I used to go to him lots when i lived in surrey but now i only see him sometimes cause it is a far drive. Van is one of the best stylist in vancouver. He is on tv and does a beauty segment on cityline? Great guy, super noce hair cut. The salon is always clean and modern. Not cheap but totally worth it. It might wanna book 2 – 3 weeks ahead.

I would highly recommend this business to anyone who has had trouble looking for the perfect hair stylist. I was one of those people before coming into Salon Blue.
I decided to book an appointment after my friend, who gets her haircut here regularly, suggested that I book with them. I went in to a different salon earlier and had decided to make a drastic change and go short after having really long hair. My hair turned out horrible and I was completely dissatisfied. I then booked an appointment with Carly who did a fantastic job on fixing my hair. She knew exactly what she was doing and regularly asked me for my opinion, rather than making her own judgements. I must say, the only reason I have kept my hair short now is because of the way Carly cuts it. I regularly get my haircut by Carly now and she has never once disappointed me. I always leave the salon with a smile on my face, and completely satisfied.
I know that every single hair stylist that works at Salon Blue provides excellent service, not just Carly. You can never go wrong with choosing Salon Blue for your haircut. I would recommend this salon to anyone and everyone!

So I decided to check out salon blue due to some reviews I had read, and I must say I was rather disappointed.
Initially I thought wow, this stylist really knows what she’s talking about, this is awesome. I had pictures of the colour I wanted as well as the cut. So she asked me when I looked at the pics what colours I saw so that she could get a total perspective, and this is where I thought yes I think I finally found someone who can get the colour i want (chocolate browns, not too complicated but apparently it is!)
Well after all was said and done the cut wasn’t bad, but it lacked fullness, and the colour… well after one wash it was a reddish brown, and I only wanted a dark chocolate with some light chocolates hitting it.
Prices are quite high as well, and honestly I wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend this place.

If you need a makeover, do yourself a favor and visit Salon Blue. The owner, Van Hong, is regularly featured as a guest stylist on Cityline, and for good reason: this guy really knows how to cut hair!
I said farewell to my chin-​length locks in the parking lot, and went in with an open mind. I emerged an hour later with the perfect short cut for my face — think Sienna Miller meets Victoria Beckham. Best of all, I encountered not a trace of rockstar or I-​know-​better attitude. The staff are friendly, welcoming and professional. Prices are on par with downtown salons, and the quality is worth every penny.
My advice is to leave your inhibitions at the door and let Van do what he wants. That is what he does for a living, after all!
